A new specialist online service, which is dedicated to helping people find the right solicitor in their local area, has been launched.

The new website is completely independent of the legal firms it makes introductions to and all enquires are treated in complete confidence. It does not give legal advice, but does have general guidance on a number of legal issues.

In the legal profession, settlement agreements used to be known (prior to 29 July, 2013) as compromise agreements. They occur when a sum of money changes hands and both parties reach a binding agreement. The monies paid are known as a "settlement sum", or "termination sum". This might occur during a redundancy process, or other form of an employment being terminated.
