The Joys and Restrictions in This "Baby-Naming" Game: An Exciting Phase of Parenthood

The moment a couple found out that they will be parents soon, one of the things that excites them is the “baby-naming” game. But depending on which country they are, baby-naming will always have its restrictions.

Selma, AL -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/07/2014 -- Choosing baby names is an exciting phase for any expectant parent. Is it going to be classy and timeless? Something super weird? Just a little weird? Or simply a name fad?

When choosing a name for a newborn, it is important to avoid the embarrassing initials, offensive meanings, and overly-famous choices. Countries all over the world have banned certain baby names to ensure that no children in the world will grow up experiencing embarrassment over the name chosen by his parents.

What do different countries ban in terms of "baby-naming"?

Malaysia. Strictly no "undesirable" baby names for Malaysia. What are these? Names inspired by animals, vegetables, fruits, numbers, colors, honorary or royal names, and yes, even Japanese cars are banned as baby names in Malaysia. Names with objectionable meanings like crazy and smelly head are certainly a no-no in this country.

Iceland. This country has pretty much a conservative law when it comes to naming a newborn child. Their list of "allowed baby names" only includes 1, 853 girls' names and 1,712 boys' names.

Denmark. If Iceland has a total of 3,565 on their list for all both gender, Denmark has a total of 7,000 in all. In this country, never ever make the mistake of naming a newborn kid Pluto, Anus, or Monkey.

Japan. A father of a child who was named "Akuma" (meaning devil) was sued by court and was later on forced to change the name of his baby to a less-demonic one. In Japan, their Family Registration Law only includes a total of 2,323 "name kanji" in their list of allowed baby names.

Portugal. This country started the banning of baby names practice. Only Christian or biblical names are allowed in this land.

China. @. Never use that symbol as a baby name in China.

Germany. Approval of baby names are made by Germany's local registrars. Names like Woodstock and Stompie, and last names like Matti and Kohl have been rejected thus far.

Sweden. Brfxxccxxmnpcccclll mmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116. This baby name made headlines. According to the boy's parents, this is pronounced as "Albin" which was "a pregnant, expressionistic development that we see as an artistic creation" which should be understood in the spirit of "'pataphysics." This name was rejected. Swedish law bans names that "can cause offense or be supposed to cause discomfort for the one using it, or names which for some obvious reason are not suitable for a first name."

Though odd it may seem, banning of baby names is not a way of restricting a parent's freedom to name whatever they feel would be suitable for their babies. It is the lawmakers' way of ensuring that no child would be subject for bullying because of their birth names.

Nutty or Nice? The Public's Verdict when the Stars Name Their Babies

Last year, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan’s name choice for their baby “Everly” topped the list of “Best Celebrity Baby Names” while Kanye West’s and Kim Kardashian’s choice for “North” as their baby’s name raised a lot of eyebrows.

Selma, AL -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/07/2014 -- There's just so much pressure for celebrity parents in naming their babies. Will the public like it? Will it be tagged as "the best" or "the worst" baby names of all times?

Baby names "Bear" (Kate Winslet's and Ned Rocknroll's baby) or "North" (Kanye West's and Kim Kardashian's baby) are just some of the least favorite celebrity baby names which made headlines just recently. This is an epic example of how celebrity parents lose support from public once they choose bizaare names for their babies.

In the US, how celebrity parents name their babies is a big thing. Classic baby names like "Elijah Joseph Daniel" (Elton John's and David Furnish's baby)and "Luna Encinas", or peculiar names like "Autumn James" (Jennifer Love Hewitt's & Brian Hallisay's baby)and "Willow Sage" (Pink's and Carey Hart's baby) are truly a win in the hearts of the public.

So where do these "winner" celebrity parents drew inspiration in naming their kids?

Padma Lakshmi and Adam Dell Couple: Baby "Krishna Thea". Obviously, this baby was named after the goddess "Krishna" in Hinduism and as a reference to Padma's Indian heritage.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Couple: Child "Harlow Winter Kate". Such a classic name inspired by Jean Harlow, a 1920s actress and model Shalom Harlow. "Harlow" is very "hollywood", "Winter" is distinct, and "Kate" is so cute.

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom: Baby "Flynn Christopher". It's weird that their baby's name was named after Miranda's high school sweetheart "Christopher" who died in a car accident during their teens, which Orlando approves of wholeheartedly. "Flynn" was derived from the classic movie start "Errol Flynn".

Sandra Bullock: Baby "Louis Bardo". Born in New Orleans, Sandra's baby named her baby after "Louis Armstrong". "Bardo" is an obscure German saint which means "water".

Christina Applegate and Martyn LeNoble: Baby "Sadie Grace". Sweet and unique. Undoubtedly, the cancer-survivor mom Christina was healed felt she was healed with the birth of "Sadie Grace" the sweetheart.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: Babies "Knox Leon" and " Vivienne Marcheline". Whenever this couple name their babies, it is a guaranteed front-page news. Knox and Vivienne have such iconic names with "Vivienne" in memory of the twin's birthplace (it is theFrench form of Vivian) and "Knox Leon" as the combination of Brad's grandfather and Angelina's great-great-grandfather.

Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo: Baby "Aviana Olea". Amy was born in Aviano, Italy and the couple's inspiration in naming their baby. Not too trying hard, but certainly exotic.
According to Nielsen's survey, "More than half (52%) of respondents said that rising food prices affect their purchasing of fresh foods, with meat and poultry categories impacted most (54%), but fresh foods continue to perform well in all parts of the world. In Asia-Pacific, fresh foods contribute as much as 60 percent of food, grocery, and personal care expenses across all retail channels on average.
Grabbing the Easy Dinner Recipes for the Working Moms

Being busy from work does not excuse any working mom from cooking dinner for their families. MomsWhoThink gives the perfect easy dinner recipes for this age-old problem – the dinner dilemma.

Selma, AL -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/06/2014 -- What's for dinner tonight? This is a seemingly million dollar question for most working moms.
