Call for Articles: WeHireHeroes.US Invites Veterans to Share Their Achievements

The "Best Veterans' Job Site on the Internet" wants to use your job-finding and business-building success stories to inspire others.

Saint Petersburg, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/28/2014 -- WeHireHeroes.US is a national job board and career resource center for American military veterans and their spouses. The site was recently named "Best Veterans' Job Site on the Internet" for its innovative approaches to helping connect transitioning veterans with the jobs that are looking for them. They are now inviting successful job candidates, recruiters, and employers to share their experiences regarding the transitional process from military member to civilian employee or business owner.

The idea of hiring veterans has recently become more popular, however the process of actually landing a position (or filling one) remains arduous for many. By gathering and sharing the personal stories of those who have already completed the journey successfully, the company seeks to inspire others to persevere and overcome whatever obstacles they may face.

"Veterans respond to the voices of other veterans, and to those who genuinely support their efforts", said Lance T. Walker, Managing Director of WeHireHeroes.US. "This project will give them the opportunity to express their thoughts, goals, fears, and opinions regarding the hiring process - and how they were ultimately able to succeed as a civilian in today's American workforce.

Ultimately, we want to shed light on the entire process so other veterans that are wrestling with an upcoming job search will be able to meet the challenge head-on, with energy and positive expectations.

This effort should also help recruiters and employers better understand the experience the veteran or spouse is going through, so both parties can better meet each other's needs."

Submission process:
Articles should not be longer than 500-600 words. Video presentations should not exceed 3 minutes in playing time. Each entry must contain: the author's email address, phone number, short biography, and military affiliation (if any). Only one contribution will be accepted per author.

Topics covered should include, but are not limited to the following:
- the job hunting or hiring process in your particular industry,
- the relationship between business and higher education in your industry (how important is having an advanced degree?)
- how did your military experience help or hinder your job search?
- how long was your job search, or how long did it take you to fill your open position?
- how did you find out about the job you have now?
- how did you connect with the veteran or spouse you eventually hired?

A selection of the stories submitted will be edited and published on the WeHireHeroes.US website in the Resources section, and may also be included in forthcoming multimedia publications on the subject. All entries become the property of WeHireHeroes.US.

WeHireHeroes.US: "Best Veterans' Job Site" Unveils Resource Center

Popular military re-employment website shows it's much more than just a job board.

Saint Petersburg, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/13/2014 -- When transitioning American veterans begin their efforts to re-enter the civilian work force, they have an abundance of employment websites to choose from. Recently, however, one destination, WeHireHeroes.US, was recently named "Best Veterans' Job Site on the Internet" - and a big reason is its robust, newly improved, user-friendly Resource Center.

The veterans' employment advocate team at WeHireHeroes.US realized early on that it would take more than just another long list of job openings to get transitioning veterans to put them among their list of "must-have" job sites, and for counselors, recruiters, and coaches to recommend the site to their constituents. As veterans themselves, they quickly identified a need that wasn't being filled by their competition - an easy to use, centralized collection of badly needed veterans' resources.

"There's no shortage of job boards online trying to grab veterans' attention", says Lance T. Walker, Managing Director for WeHireHeroes.US. "The problem is, the vast majority are operating in an isolated manner, separate from the support community - and most aren't even veteran-owned. There is a strong temptation for some in the advertising world to view America's veterans as just another segment to be marketed to.

For us, it's much different. To us, this work is a mission, a covenant between ourselves and our fellow veterans. It's a boots-on-the-ground kind of commitment to assisting our men and women in uniform as they rejoin the civilian mainstream. That means more than just giving them a list of available jobs; it also means connecting them with information and resources they need to prepare themselves to overcome the inevitable obstacles and successfully conquer the challenges they face."

The Resource Center is divided into seven sections: the Free Job Search Kit, Job News, Press Room, Article Library, Education, Valuable Links, and the Old School Video Game Room.

- Free Job Search Kit for Veterans - Contains a professional job coaching video, job search planning guide, "Top 10 Secrets" resume manual, and much more.

- Job News - Timely information pertaining to the American job market, including latest trends and company announcements.

- Press Room - Includes press releases, news items, and announcements about WeHireHeroes.US activities and events.

- Article Library - Organized into sections: Current Job search, Business, Work from Home, Family Living, Money & Finance, and Technology articles.

- Education - Little known college and certification resouces for veterans and their spouses.

- Valuable Links - Delivers information, emergency assistance, resources, and solutions that directly affect the lives of veterans and their families.

- Old School Game Room - Relax from the stress inherent in a full-on job search. Play Space Invaders, Pac Man, Asteroids, Frogger, Tetris and more - right from within the WeHireHeroes.US Resource Center!

Altogether, this treasure trove of free tools, connections, and info-products comprises a complete virtual support system that veterans and their families can access instantly with no accounts needed, and no passwords to remember.

"After two and a half years, WeHireHeroes.US is a name veterans have grown to know and trust. The Resource Center allows us to reach our audience in a variety of ways", added Mr. Walker. "It's one of the main ways we keep job seekers coming back - and recently, it's helped us land the name 'Best Veterans' Job Site on the Internet. We'll be working hard every day to maintain that title by providing real value to veterans and their spouses."

WeHireHeroes.US Named Best Veterans' Job Site on the Internet

WeHireHeroes.US Has Recently Been Officially Given the Title Of America's Best Job Site for Veterans.

Saint Petersburg, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/06/2014 -- The results of a recent web-based poll during which respondents were asked to recognize the top veteran website online generated what some would call a predictable end result; WeHireHeroes.US was chosen by a clear majority over all the other recognized names on the Internet.

The survey and the subsequent naming of Best Veterans Job Site was started after an intense debate blossomed over just where employers should post jobs for veterans. Which of the top military job sites would be able to lay absolute claim to that title? In an effort to help keep the competition fair to all, the competition was performed online and the winner was decided upon by ex-military job seekers, recruiters, and veteran-friendly employers themselves.

Immediately after introducing the opinion poll, there was a spirited debate over the title of Best Veterans Job Site, but after the results were verified, there was a clear and undisputed winner of the much sought-after title. At the conclusion of the survey, WeHireHeroes.US was formally declared the Best Veterans Job Site on the Internet.

Employers asked about the survey seemed to have mixed responses to WeHireHeroes.US's claiming of the prestigious title, varying from mild disbelief that one military veteran job site could be so dominant, to enthusiastic agreement with the selection that veterans, HR specialists, and hiring professionals had decided on.

Video link: About WeHireHeroes.US - featuring Capt. Davis

Dan Tong, producer and host of the DTong Radio Show out of Denver, Colorado, was among those who agreed. "I highly recommend this business and site to help connect employers and veterans," he praised. "Awesome work!"

WeHireHeroes.US was identified as Best Veterans' Job Site by military veterans and human resources personnel alike in large part because, unlike almost all of their competition, there is no sign-up required to view open positions. This alone made WeHireHeroes.US the clear favorite of military members re-entering the civilian job force. "Veterans absolutely hate having to set up a new account and memorize yet another password just to see what jobs are available", said one participant.

"And WeHireHeroes isn't just a job board. It also contains a real career resource center with tons of articles, coaching, support links, and even an online game room for when you need a quick break. There's no other site quite like it for helping veterans find jobs."

Competitors for the coveted label included such household names as Military.com, Recruit Military, HirePatriots, Veterans Job Bank, HireVeterans, VetJobs, GIJobs, and more.

After the overall results were in, Lance T. Walker, Managing Director of We Hire Heroes, was understandably delighted. "I didn't even realize there was a poll going on", he said. "But as an Air Force veteran myself, I like to think we have a better handle on how veterans feel about the process than most of our competitors do. Veterans aren't just a marketing demographic to us. They're a family of men and women who have taken extraordinary steps and made remarkable sacrifices to defend this country, and the last thing they should have to do is come home and fight for a job."

Mr. Walker was also overheard saying, "Employers and recruiters are constantly telling us they'd love to hire more veterans, but they just don't know how to reach them. By pairing our job board with our huge social media network, we are able to give companies unprecedented access to the veteran community and help them solve this problem. I am truly enthusiastic about our plans for 2014 and beyond, as more of our heroes return from overseas. Being acknowledged as Best Veterans' Job Site is not just an honor, it is also a privilege. My thanks to all who took part in the vote. Rest assured, we've only just begun!"
