San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/29/2014 -- The translation industry in China is expected to grow substantially from 2011 to 2015 but authorities are worried that the lack of talented Chinese translators will hinder the development.

The Translators Association of China says the translation industry has posted nearly 20 percent yearly growth from 2003 and 2011. It adds that a 15 percent increase is expected to continue until 2015.

But the group is worried that the industry may not be able to cope with the huge demand for chinese translators especially given the expanding Chinese economy. It adds that translation companies don't pay high salaries to its employees, resulting to the high turnover in the industry especially those that work as Mandarin interpreter.

The expanding economy of China continued in the second quarter of the year with a growth rate of 7.5 percent this year, up from the previous quarter's 7.4 percent. Economists believe that more business opportunities can be generated by the government's stimulus program and this could encourage more foreign companies to partner with Chinese businesses.

The China Translation Industry Annual Report in 2012 pegged that the language services of China will have a yearly output of $41.8 billion, and would provide two million jobs by the middle of the decade.
