1,000 Asked to Join Her to Raise Money for Children’s Miracle Network, Minneapolis Convention Center October 18-19, 2014

Minneapolis, MN -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/22/2014 -- Lauren Algyer, recently crowned Miss Minnesota's Outstanding Teen, issued a challenge to yoga practitioners across the Twin Cities to form a "Super" yoga group at the Healthy Life Expo, which will be held October 18-19 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Algyer, a junior at Prior Lake High School, will lead the class, which she hopes will bring a thousand people to practice yoga at the Expo and set a record for the world's largest yoga class. The workout will begin slowly at noon on Saturday, October 18, and build in intensity. Yoga students who bring a yoga mat to the Expo will receive free admission. Free-will donations collected at the event will benefit the Children's Miracle Network, which the 17-year-old Algyer represents during her year of service. She will compete for the national title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen in Orlando, Florida, in August.

In addition to the Super Yoga class, yoga instructors from several Twin Cities yoga schools will teach or discuss various yoga topics every hour throughout the two-day Expo.

The Healthy Life Expo will open its doors at 10 a.m. October 18 and 19. Admission is $6 for adults, but free with the donation of a non-perishable food item, which goes to Moms & Neighbors. More than 150 exhibitors will be on hand to demonstrate the latest personal health products. This is the 23rd Healthy Life Expo.
