Solar Market in the UK Remains Strong Despite FITs Cuts

In January so far, Quotatis has seen that consumer demand is still high, even though it is unlikely that enquirers will get solar panels installed before the FIT reduction comes into force from 15thJanuary.
Quotatis’ Head of Marketing, Thomas Crosswell, explained that “When the government cut the Feed-in Tariff in 2011, consumer interest in solar panels did not significantly decrease.

Norwich, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/14/2016 -- Early signs suggest that the solar market will remain strong despite the cut in the Feed-in Tariff scheme (FITs), according to figures from lead generator Quotatis.

Solar panels are no longer just for the wealthy few as the price of panels continued to decrease in 2015. The demand for solar photovoltaic panels has increased dramatically over the last few years. In fact, Quotatis saw more solar enquiries than ever before in 2015. Even with the cut in the Feed-in Tariff scheme, early signs from Quotatis show interest may not reduce to the degree some have predicted.

In January so far, Quotatis has seen that consumer demand is still high, even though it is unlikely that enquirers will get solar panels installed before the FIT reduction comes into force from 15th January.

Quotatis' Head of Marketing, Thomas Crosswell, explained that "When the government cut the Feed-in Tariff in 2011, consumer interest in solar panels did not significantly decrease. It seems that companies can expect the same after these cuts."As the graph shows, consumer interest in solar has been steady since the 2011 cut to the FIT, and it's expected that the long-anticipated cut this January will not cause a substantial drop.

Consumers are focusing more on getting bundles of energy saving improvements, like solar hot water, smart boiler management and biomass boilers.Their aim is to cut their energy bills rather than make a significant return on investments from the FIT, unlike before the cuts in 2011.

The solarpv market will continue to be strong in 2016, and Quotatis are not expecting a big reduction in consumers making enquiries. Teresa Gizzi, Sales Director at Quotatis, said"The companies that stay in the market will greatly benefit, and we suggest that they look to offer a range of energy saving solutions, including heat pumps, A* rated boilers and solar batteries."

Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of solar panels with more of them visible on homes, and interest is growing now that fitting solar panels on a property adds to its value. The falling price of installation is making them affordable for more homeowners, as they try to find a long-term solution to cheaper energy.

As there is an increasing awareness about the risk of global warming, customers are turning to solar panels to reduce their CO2 emissions. This is only going to grow as the cost of installation falls.

In 2016 it's unclear if the North/South divide will continue. Figures from Google show that in 2015, more customers in the midlands and the south were searching for solar panels than in the north.

As the cost of solar panels continues to decrease, there are questions over whether this trend will remain in 2016.

Companies should not feel threatened by the cut to the Feed-in Tariff and should look to expand their services to ensure they can offer their customers exactly what they are looking for.

Quotatis Gives Tips on How to Find a Reliable Tradesman in Less Than Five Steps

Quotatis announced their free, non-obligation service putting homeowners connected to professional London Tradesmen and other home improvement companies for a range of products and services.

Norwich, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/03/2014 -- Home improvement is the top priority of many households these days. After buying the home everyone wishes to have, the next step is to make sure that the home is well taken care of by having it remodeled each year to come at par with the latest housing trends or at least have some part of the house repaired and rebuilt for it to at least retain its value over the years.

In London in particular, as the economy blooms, the home improvement industry also blossoms. And what can these lead to- a great demand of hundreds of the best skilled workers and London Tradesmen in the land. Since there are a lot of tradesmen available to share their craft, it is always best to consider a few pointers on how to choose a reliable tradesman. Here are a few factors to consider which may help in finding a perfect tradesman:

1. Mind the Quote: It is always important to find the correct and affordable quote when having home improvement. Take note that in requesting for a quote, one must be specific, detailed and clear. Also make sure that one gets not only one quotation but at least three so there is something to compare. The quote must also include the dates when the work will be started and finished. It must also state an agreed payment term.

2. Make some Research: If possible, seek a few references and check on the tradesman's previous works. Visit previous jobs done so one would be able to make a comparison on how the job was done based on one's standards. Search for their office address which should be a physical address and not just a PO Box. A legitimate firm should be able to provide their customers with an established physical location and a landline.

3. Pay as it Progresses: If possible, communicate with the chosen tradesman that payments are given once work has been done and no advance payments will be made. However, when there will be times when materials are need to be bought in advance, it's just realistic for the trader to ask for payment of a fair percentage of the material costs as the job progresses.

4. Use a Contract: Always use a written contract because if offers the homeowners a written protection just in case anything goes wrong. One must also agree on any stage and final payments before the work start. It is also recommended to set a penalty cost just in case the work was not done on the date promised as written in the contract.

Quotatis is one of the firms recommended in the whole of London. The firm hails their free, non-obligation service which puts homeowners connected to professional London Tradesmen and other home improvement companies for a range of products and services. The company's huge network of highly-equipped tradesmen can provide the best and competitive prices for each homeowner's needs. Quaotatis service professionals can provide honest and trustworthy quotations. As what their tagline says, "With Quotatis, you can ensure to get the right price first time, everytime." Indeed, their consumers felt that the first time and everytime.
