New Picture Book That Teaches Life's Lessons

Educating Children about the Circle of Life

Newark, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/03/2016 -- Award winning Author Len Saunders is proud to collaborate with Snow Leopard Publishing on a new picture book entitled Buddy and Bea, where a percentage of the proceeds of each book sold will raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest New Jersey.

Life.....There is no easy way to explain its meaning and purpose, especially to young children. There is no manual or instructions for talking about it with the children in our lives. And no wonder; even as adults, the "circle of life" can be hard to wrap your mind around and accept.

Buddy and Bea addresses the issue on a child's level, through the heart-warming story of two friends who grow close before having to be separated from each other. Even children who have not experienced loss themselves can relate to this touching tale.

Join Buddy the leaf as he buds from a tree branch in spring, meets his new friend Bea the bird, and form an instant bond. With the passing seasons, the two talk and laugh as Buddy grows and matures into a fully grown leaf with the beautiful colors of fall. And then, Bea must endure the loss of her friend as Buddy falls from his tree home. Bea deals with the loss of our friend, only to find joy in the Spring when a new leaf buds from the tree.

The book is just a warm and fuzzy story, with no mention of the word 'death' in the book. The book will not only be enjoyable for children, but also their parents! Visit the book webpage to learn more. About Len Saunders
Len Saunders has become a leader in the field of children's health and fitness. He helps children deal with many of the challenges life throws their way. Len's Father passed away 8 months before he was born. Len never met his Dad, but his Mother raised him teaching him many of the values his Father would have taught him. This story is very symbolic, as Buddy reminds Len of his Dad, Bea his Mother, and well, the New Bud is Len.

U.S Kids Will Exercise for 10 Continuous Hours During National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month in September

U.S. Children Stand Up to Childhood Obesity

Newark, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2015 -- In a unique attempt toward the fight against childhood obesity, children in the United States are going to exercise for ten continuous hours on Thursday, September 30, 2015 in the seventh annual Exercise US, or Exercise United States day. September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. As stated in US News & World Report referring to the Exercise US program - - "In a unique attempt to fight childhood obesity and cuts being made to school physical education programs, elementary, middle, and high schools from New York to Hawaii and Alaska have signed on to a newfangled "fitness relay" event."

The concept in very simple - Beginning at 8:00 am (est.), schools on the east coast will exercise from 8:00 - 8:15 am. When their prearranged time slot is over, more schools on the east coast will begin their prepared exercise session from 8:15 – 8:30 am. Once an organized 15-minute time allotment ends, another location will pick up where the last school or organization left off. This pattern will continue for 10 hours concluding with schools on the west coast.

About Len Saunders
Len Saunders, a physical education teacher in New Jersey, and author of Keeping Kids Fit (LaChance Publishing, NY), created the Exercise US event. Saunders is also the creator of Project ACES (http://www.projectaces.com), which has motivated millions of children to exercise over the last 20 years.

According to Saunders, "this could be the first generation of children whose life expectancy may be shorter than their parents. With the rise is type 2 diabetes and other health related diseases associated with obesity, children need motivational techniques that get them to exercise." Saunders is thrilled to introduce this new program on a national level.
