Interlecta Releases MozTrans 0.1.8 the Mozilla translation add-on

The mobile translation software developers released the next version of the Mozilla translation add-on, MozTrans.

Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/11/2009 -- The new version of the translation application is online since July 24th 2009. The changes that have been made include some interface improvements but the translation process is the same – users need to select the text and set the source and target language and the topical dictionary.

Some of the other improvements and changes on the new version include the code this time released under GPLv2 license, new utils class and activation and a new namespace prototype in const.js. Yet other changes are still awaiting approval by Mozilla (the namespace wrapping).

Like the old version of MozTrans, the new one can be added to Mozilla Firefox, Seamonkey and Thunderbird. Those who have previously installed the add-on need to search and install version 0.1.8. and the download and installation process for the ones who are to use it for the first time, is a lot easier. MozTrans would generate a special code of letters and numbers and will use only browser specific data without requiring any personal data by the users. After being generated the code is sent to Interlecta's servers with the click of a button.

Interlecta develop translation software for different mobile platforms but mainly for BlackBerry. Other platforms include J2ME, Windows Mobile, iPhone and Android. The company successfully works on translation technologies for desktop, social networks and chat environment and have recently released a translation side bar and a web translator on their homepage http://home.interlecta.com/toenglishtranslation

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Jake Sullivan
Interlecta
Telephone: +359887952359
Email: Click to Email Jake Sullivan
Web: http://home.interlecta.com

A Second Web Translation Service By Interlecta

Veliko Turnovo, Veliko Turnovo -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/06/2009 -- Interlecta added another web translator to their homepage. The new release is located on a separate page which contains additional information about the available and upcoming language pairs on the company's applications.

The new page on Interlecta's website is ready and is available for use by the public. The new site feature is called "to English translation" and includes a list of all the available languages on Interlecta's products, detailed information about the language pairs as well as those which are to be added, but most important of all – a new web translator.

In addition to the side bar that was added a week ago the web translator takes a separate page and provides machine translation in all the language pairs that the company's products support. The page is called "to English translation" because the main aim of this translator is to show the existing "to English" translations of Interlecta's applications and their quality.

The web translator http://home.interlecta.com/toenglishtranslation is for now released as a free service that can be used just as other translators and provides high quality translation. Users can copy and paste the translated text and use it to translate emails or any text inside or outside the web and in order for the service to be used, the terms of service must be accepted.

The side bar translator and the web translator on Interlecta's home page are new services but they released a similar tool in October 2008 – MozTrans, a translation add-on for Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird and Seamonkey. MozTrans does not open in another window or tab and users only select the text they want and the result shows on their screen.

All the users and clients of Interlecta can now regularly receive information for site and product updates by subscribing to the company's blog feeds for which no personal data is needed except a valid email address.

Interlecta was established in 2007 and their main field of work is mobile translation. Since then they have developed several different mobile translators, one of which was released on RIM's App World in July 2009, translation applications for social networks, desktop, chat environments, web translators and of course text translators for BlackBerry, Java, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and are preparing products for iPhone and Android. In February 2009 Interlecta took part in the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, with their own booth as a partner of BlackBerry's manufacturers RIM.
Officials from the company said that the hardware improvement that caused the downtime of the company's services was planned for the end of the year, but the sudden growth of visitors of their homepage and the increased number of users of Interlecta's applications necessitated earlier actions. After a long period of hard work Interlecta's development team has finally finished the system upgrade and on the July 20th, 20h GMT+2 their servers were brought back up to serve the company's clients. The newly built system will be able to serve more users at a time and will reduce the response time. Other results of this hardware upgrade are newly added language pairs and new names of some of their applications. Some further enhancements are expected soon but they will not require any server downtime.
