Author Stephen Gallup Chosen As a Finalist for the San Diego Book Award for What About the Boy

Winners Will Be Announced at the Eighteenth Annual San Diego Book & Writing Awards, June 9, 2012

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/14/2012 -- Stephen Gallup, author of the critically acclaimed memoir, What About the Boy?: A Father's Pledge to His Disabled Son, has been named a finalist for the 2012 San Diego Book Awards, in the category of Published Biography & Memoir. The San Diego Book Awards Association (SDBAA) is a volunteer organization dedicated to enriching the large, diverse, and vibrant literary community of the greater San Diego area. Every year the SDBAA honors the best published books and unpublished manuscripts by authors residing in San Diego County.

"I am honored to be chosen as a finalist for the San Diego Book Award for my memoir, What About the Boy?," says Stephen Gallup. What About the Boy? is a compelling true account that dramatizes an earlier campaign to find options for his developmentally disabled son, Joseph.

In What About the Boy?, Gallup and his wife sought medical help for their son and were told at first not to worry so much. Later, the professionals recommended counseling to help the parents accept the fact that nothing could help their son. Refusal to accept that advice launched an improbable journey that changed their lives forever.

"Even if I don't win this year, I am humbled to have my memoir nominated and hope that all who read What About the Boy? feel moved and empowered by the experience," says Gallup. This is Gallup's first book and it has garnered a strong national following. Four years ago, the manuscript won the San Diego Book Award in the Unpublished Memoir category.

The San Diego Book Awards are considered the highest literary honor for authors in San Diego. Winning authors affirm that receiving a San Diego Book Award helps boost sales of their books. Numerous winners in the unpublished novel, memoir, and poetry chapbook competitions have reported that winning a San Diego Book Award played a key role in their later acquiring a publisher for their work.

"I am very honored and happy to be kicking off my spring book tour for Carlousia, The Passing of the Guard in Gainesville and Norcross." Carter stated, "I am humbled by the reviews and positive response that Carlousia, The Passing of the Guard has earned since its release.
In Carlousia, readers meet Eddie Caskett. Eddie is filled with relief. The worries of moving into a new neighborhood, making friends, and starting a new school have been weighing him down. But after spending just a few minutes with the kids of Drayton Woods, Eddie realizes that the adventurous summer he was hoping for might just happen after all. Eddie hopes all the fun he anticipates will ease the pain of knowing his grandfather is dying.

With his last bit of strength before he passes away, Eddie's grandfather whispers that he has left something for Eddie in his barn—and that the tall tales he has been telling Eddie for years are true. With the help of a magic bracelet he finds inside a secret hole in the barn, Eddie and his two new friends, Dan and Scotty, enter a portal where they are suddenly thrust into roles guarding the world of Carlousia. With one slip or miscalculation, they realize the balance of time and a legacy will be gone, and evil will destroy Carlousia and their homes back in Drayton Woods. Now the boys must conquer fear, outwit predators, unfold betrayal, and overthrow evil in a world different from their own—all while pretending everything is normal at home.

The book is an extraordinary adventure with three boys taking a wild, coming-of-age journey that intertwines risk, honor, loyalty, and the kind of danger that unfortunately may lead to unimaginable loss of one of their own.

E.G. Carter's own story is as thrilling and captivating as Carlousia itself. He suffers from dyslexia yet has never let it keep him down, earning his B.S. from the University of Georgia; he is a successful sales executive, entrepreneur and storyteller. He wrote Carlousia, The Passing of the Guard to triumph over dyslexia, to show his two sons, and young adults that nothing is impossible.

"I am honored to have my memoir, What About the Boy?, nominated for the Foreword Magazine Book of the Year Award," says Stephen Gallup. What About the Boy? is a compelling true account that dramatizes an earlier campaign to find better options for his disabled son, Joseph.

In What About the Boy?, Gallup and his wife sought medical help for their son and were told at first not to worry so much. Later, the professionals recommended counseling to help the parents accept reality. Nothing could help their son, and the quality of their own lives was at risk. Refusal to accept that advice launched an improbable journey that changed their lives forever.

"Even if I am not a winner this year, I am humbled to have my memoir nominated and hope that all who read What About the Boy? feel moved and empowered by the experience," says Gallup. This is Gallup's first book and it has garnered a strong national following. Gallup is confident that his memoir can win the Foreword Book Award.

Book Offers Practical Tips On How To Make A Winning Law Firm By Renowned Attorney Shella

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/30/2011 -- Digisoda Publishing announces the publication of Grinding It Out: How To Create A Six-Figure Law Practice (ISBN 9780 983360018, Digisoda Publishing, 2011) by famed attorney Chris Shella. Set for release on March 31, 2011, Shella, a renowned attorney for major felonies and federal criminal defense cases, outlines the steps essential to make any law practice into a six-figure and vibrant practice. Drawing on his own experience of fourteen years of practice up and down the East Coast, Shella assures the reader that what is needed to be successful is a latop, a couple of suits, a phone number, a law degree, and a bar card. It is written in easy to understand way for someone starting their own law practice or someone with an existing law practice who wants to take it to the next step.

"There is no get rich quick formula in Grinding It Out: How To Create A Six-Figure Law Practice," said Chris Shella. "The reason for this book isn't because I am smarter than other lawyers. It's just that over time, I have learned what it takes to be successful in practicing law. Sadly, it's something that isn't taught in law school, or law books, or a professor's lectures. It is learned from testing and errors back and fourth and the practice of law. This book is designed to help fellow lawyers and those entering the practice of law, who are facing the worst economy since the Great Depression, advice on how to run their firm and make it profitable."

Already available on Kindle, Grinding It Out: How To Create A Six-Figure Law Practice is currently ranked number 3 in sales for books related to law education. Among the topics covered in the book are how to get your office started, how to handle cases, how to ensure payment. Shella offers advice from the desirability of laptops versus desktop computers in setting up a law office (he says laptop) to the need to run a lean and mean office – that means no staff. Overlooked by many new lawyers is the need for insurance, Shella preaches in the book the need for insurance as you start out and as your firm begins to flourish. Another key topic covered is how to bring on business for the firm. While politics to many is a bad word, Shella suggests it is a good way to make connections and bring on business for your firm.

Author Chris Shella is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School and started his legal career in Long Island, New York at the Nassau County District Attorney's Office. He is admitted to the practice of law in New York, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and North Carolina. Shella is also admitted to the federal court in the Eastern District of North Carolina, the Middle District of North Carolina, U.S. District of Columbia, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eastern District of New York, and the Southern District of New York. He and his cases have been covered on Court TV, CNN, and in the New York Times, and other media outlets across the globe. His most famous case is the Vegan Baby Case, where a mother in Queens, New York was accused of starving her child on a Vegan diet. Throughout his career, Shella has applied and learned from the lessons that he now writes about in Grinding It Out: How To Create A Six-Figure Law Practice.

Wimmer Reflects on Phoenix As He Gears up for Vegas

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/12/2011 -- NASCAR favorite Scott Wimmer returned to Phoenix this past weekend for the Bashas' Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix International Speedway. Wimmer and his Key Motorsports team went into weekend on a mission to rebound from their outing at Daytona that was ended prematurely due to engine failure the week before. Wimmer ran an extremely strong in practice sessions in the Key Motorsports' #40 Chevrolet Impala and qualified in the 25th position. "I was focusing more on creating a car that I knew could be in contention for the long runs, which turned out to be good with so few cautions in the race," said Wimmer.

Indeed through the Bashas' Supermarkets 200, Wimmer and the #40 Chevrolet Impala would be strong on the long runs when the tires came up to temp, Wimmer would run times within the Top-6 overall on a consistent basis, and finished with 5 fast laps in the race.

Caught out by yellows at inopportune times, Wimmer found himself down two laps to the leaders. Although the car was good on the long runs, it was those long runs that also eliminated his opportunity to stay out under yellow to earn those laps back.

"I'm pretty confident that if we had one more yellow in the final 40 laps or so I could have gotten at least one of my laps back, if not both, and make a strong push for a Top-10. We had the car for it today, just not the right timing of the yellows to take advantage of them," said Wimmer.

Wimmer and the Key Motorsports team now head to Las Vegas for the Sam's Town 300 at Vegas Motor Speedway. Looking towards this weekend Wimmer mentions; "With the cars staying out on the west coast between the races, it creates new obstacles for the team to overcome by not being in the shop, but I think they are up to the task. More than anything, we just want to keep building on the results from Phoenix to continue to develop the new car and getting consistent good results the team needs to get the right sponsors on board." The race will be televised at 3pm EST on ABC.

Von Moltke and Bell Dazzle the Crowds in Utah

Von Moltke and Bell finished in the Top-10 and Dion ended the season at the leading point recipient in 2010 Rookie of the Year Award in the Daytona Prototype class and second in the Jim Trueman Award standings.

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/21/2010 -- GRAND-AM racing sensation, Dion von Moltke and rising star Matt Bell dazzled racing fans from across the world as the 2010 Rolex Sports Car Series ended this weekend at the Utah 500 at Miller Motorsports Park. Von Moltke and Bell finished in the Top-10 and Dion ended the season at the leading point recipient in 2010 Rookie of the Year Award in the Daytona Prototype class and second in the Jim Trueman Award standings. Dion had an impressive 10 Top-10 finishes out of 12 races on the 2010 season. This was Bell's second start in the Daytona Prototype series and did not disappoint. He earned for the second time in his two starts the coveted Jim Trueman Award and qualified the #77 McDonalds/South African Airways/PR Newswire Doran Racing Ford Dallara in the Top-8 yet again. Bell was actually pulling double duty in Utah as he was also competing in the Stevenson Motorsports #6 Sunoco Camaro in the Continental Tire Challenge Series. He qualified in pole position and led more than half of that race.

Dion wants to thank his sponsors and his fans for the tremendous support they showed him during the 2010 season. Without the strong support that was shown by his teams' sponsors – McDonalds, PRNewswire, and South African Airways, he knows the success he had on the track would not have been possible or meaningful. They were more than sponsors, they were partners in his pursuit of the challenge of a very competitive Daytona Prototype class against some of the top teams and drivers in all of racing. This was von Moltke's first full season of racing in the class and in addition to his sponsors, he credits his success also to his teammates this season – Memo Gidley, Mark Patterson, and Matt Bell.

He is looking forward to a challenging and exciting 2011 season in going head-to-head with some of the best and stiffest competitors in the racing world. He will spend the offseason evaluating his offers and options for 2011 for what will give him the best opportunity for success and ultimately more Championships to his long list of accomplishments. "This was a key year in the development of my professional racing career" Dion continues; "I am now a more solid and experienced driver, have a foundation built on relationships such as PR Newswire and South African Airways, and am supported by a strengthened relationship with P1 Groupe. 2011 will be all about wins, podiums and championships!"

Dion has completed successfully now in every level of GRAND AM racing, including last season's three wins in the Continental Tire Challenge Series. The skills he showed on track this year is one of the reasons why he is becoming one of the hottest commodities in the racing world.

Sweeney Teams Up With the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to Battle Blood Cancers

Sweeney has a strong personal connection in racing to find a cure for blood cancers.

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/14/2010 -- Mike Sweeney Racing is teaming up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to help fight blood cancers. During the Rolex 24 At Daytona in February 2011, Sweeney will be racing on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. P1 Groupe, Sweeney's motorsports management company, will be working in conjunction with LLS in securing corporate partnerships on behalf of Mike Sweeney Racing and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Sweeney has a strong personal connection in racing to find a cure for blood cancers as he lost his Uncle Chris to the disease.

"I'm really excited about this opportunity," said Mike Sweeney. "It's a rare honor to be in a position to be a part of such a great organization, while getting to help them in such a noble pursuit. We are going to do everything in our power to help raise awareness and funding for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, in order to help them reach their ultimate goal of finding a cure for blood borne cancers. This is a fantastic group of people doing real and necessary good, to be even a small part of it is a thrill, and gives me extra motivation for next season!"

Sweeney is considered one of the up and coming stars in GRAND-AM racing and a strong fan favorite. He recently finished sixth at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres.

Sweeney got a later start for his racing career than many of his sports car racing counterparts, but his determination and focus on the sport he loves has allowed him to make up a lot of ground on his competition in a very short period of time. He began his driving career as a substitute driver in a Porsche 356, bringing the car home in 7th position after spending several years Grand Prix's on his Honda RS 125 Road Racing Bike. Mike began building his driving resume behind the wheel of several Porsche's in historic events, consistently finishing at the front of his class. To date, only two years into his professional career, that career he longed for has taken off in the Continental Tire Challenge Series with the APR Motorsport VW GTi, and Compass 360 Honda Civic Si. Sweeney won back-to-back events in the series, including the first ever win for APR Motorsports and VW's first professional win as a manufacturer in over 25 years.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding research for the treatment and prevention of leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. The organization is comprised of 66 chapters across the United States and 2 branches in Canada. Their mission is carried out through research, education and services for patients with blood and other cancers. Society-sponsored research has led to groundbreaking improvements in treating the more than 850,000 Americans currently affected by these diseases.

Von Moltke and Bell Roar Into Salt Lake for Rolex Car Series Finale

Von Moltke Looks to Win Rookie of the Year and Trueman Award Honors

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2010 -- Dion von Moltke, completing his first full season in the Daytona Prototype class, and rising star Matt Bell are looking to cap off a strong Rolex Car Series season this weekend at the Utah 500 at Miller Motorsports Park. Dion and Matt will be racing in the #77 McDonalds/South African Airways/PR Newswire Doran Racing Ford Dallara. The duo teamed up for the first time in July at the NJMP 250 and finished sixth at that race. Bell, who had never raced before in a DP, earned the coveted Jim Trueman Award at that race as Dion had done earlier in the season. Now, as the Rolex Car Series draws to an end at the Utah 500, the team is looking to complete the season with a strong finish.

"I am really pumped for the Utah 500!" said Dion. "I could not be more excited than to be driving with Matt Bell. Each race is a challenge but having a skilled co-driver such as Matt gives a feeling of confidence and an added advantage as we close this exciting season." Dion continues; "I really must thank all the sponsors and fans that have supported me and Doran Racing this season. Without them none of this would be possible!"

Dion has scored nine Top-10 finishes in 11 of the 12 races of the 2010 season and is looking to end the season this weekend with momentum as the team vies for their first podium of the 2010 racing season. Always a strong fan and media draw, von Moltke remains a leading contender in the DP Class for the coveted Rookie of the Year and Jim Trueman Awards, and going into the final round stands in second place overall in both categories.

"The chance to end the Rolex Car Series alongside my friend and fellow-racer Dion is an honor and pleasure," said Matt Bell. "We showed our potential at the NJMP 250 and I know that we will finish the Utah 250 even stronger now having a race under my belt and a better understanding of the car and the task at hand."

Bell last year tied the Continental Tire Challenge Series record with 5 pole positions in one season. The streak for Bell has continued in 2010 as Bell has brought Camaro its first Pole Position and Podium since their return to racing sharing the #6 Sunoco Stevenson Camaro with co-driver Jeff Bucknum.

The Utah 500 is the final race of the GRAND-AM Rolex Car Series for 2010. Held at the Miller Motorsports Park on September 10-12 at Tooele, Utah, the race is expected to attract racing fans from across the world.

Trinkler Looks for Three in a Row in Utah and Lee Carpentier Joins Matt Connolly Motorsports in GTO-R

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2010 -- P1 Groupe, the premiere motorsports management company, is ending the GRAND-AM Series season with a bang on September 10-11, 2010 at the Miller Motorsports Park as the company has clients in all levels of both the Continental Tire Challenge and Rolex Series competing this weekend. Fan favorite, Owen Trinkler, who has won two races in a row is looking for a trifecta this weekend and will be racing with team owner Randy Smalley in the Continental Tire Challenge Series ST Class in his RSR Mini Cooper S. Lee Carpentier and Mike Sweeney join Matt Connolly Motorsports and will be racing in the GTO-R, a car which has won the most races in GRAND-AM History. This will also mark the final race of the GTO-R in Grand Am competition, so the team and driving tandem are looking to end on a strong note.

"We are attempting to go three for three this weekend," said Owen Trinkler. "With a victory, we will have the momentum going into the 2011 season few teams can match. The Mini Cooper S is the ultimate GRAND-AM car and are already preparing the lineup of drivers as we will again campaign the Mini throughout 2011 as well."

This is his second full season with RSR Motorsports in the Mini Cooper. In 2009 Trinkler qualified in Pole Position on two occasions and had a season-best finish of 4th place at Barber Motorsports Park while leading laps in a number of races for his RSR Motorsports team in the Mini Cooper S race car. This is in addition to the two pole positions he earned for the same team in the 2008 racing season, but shadows in comparison to his many racing accomplishments.

Lee Carpentier joins Matt Connolly Motorsports in the Pontiac GTO-R in the GT class of the Rolex Series through the work of P1 Groupe. For Carpentier racing in the GTO-R is a coveted one, as he makes his GRAND AM debut.

The Miller Motorsports Park round will mark the completion of the 2010 season in both the Continental Tire Challenge Series and Rolex Sportscar Series. It will be attracting racing fans from across the world to cheer Trinkler, Sweeney and Carpentier to victory.

Dion Completes Ninth Top-10 Finish in 11 Races this Year at Montreal 200

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/07/2010 -- Dion von Moltke, considered one of GRAND-AM's more popular racers of the Rolex Series, finished 9th at the Montreal 200 with co-driver Mark Patterson as the duo battle from the back of the pack due to failing to make qualifying due to earlier damage suffered in practice. Driving the McDonalds / South African Airways (SAA) / PRNewswire Ford Dallara Daytona Prototype that proudly sports Dion's native South African flag, von Moltke scored his ninth Top-10 finish in 11 of the 12 races of the 2010 season with only the Utah 250 at Salt Lake City's Miller Motorsports Park remaining. Dion remains a leading contender for the coveted Rookie of the Year award.

"Good top-10 finish in the Vuvuzela car again," said Dion von Moltke. "The team did a great job all weekend to get us on the pace and even with the little incidents on track we were able to consistently drive Top-6 lap times so it should hopefully be good going to Salt Lake City. I will be very determined to show what this car and team are capable of and finish the season on a strong note!"

The race began on a down note for the team. There was an off by Patterson during the Trueman/Aiken practice session that eliminated the opportunity to qualify. Not qualifying meant the team would have to start the race at the back of the pack. Mark Patterson started the race for the team and had an early tangle with the Krohn Racing DP. The car was not badly damaged, but had some difficulty in restarting and rejoined the race 30 seconds down. This created too much of a gap to make up for the team to make up on the lead pack early on. With the race leader, the #99 Gainsco backed DP, baring down on him entering one of the corners, Patterson tried giving room to the race leader, which took him off the race line and was unable to make the turn. The #77 Doran Racing driver could only watch as the tire wall quickly approached. Unable to get the car out of gear he had to be towed back, but during the towing process was able to get the gearbox to disengage and pop the clutch to restart the car. Already down 4 laps, Dion jumped in, and quickly made up ground on the competition. Dion was given the instruction to not get in the way of anyone's race that was still in it, since the car was several laps down Dion settled into a consistent pace on par with the leaders.

Von Moltke has had a strong 2010 season to date. He has earned two Top-5 finishes, as he vies for the Rookie of the Year points lead, and setting the pace in the Trueman/Akin sessions in seven of the eight rounds in the 2010 racing season that he's participated in.

With many of the teams' sponsors in attendance, another Top-10 is just what the doctor ordered; "We had many of our most important customers and travel partners attend the Montreal race as guests of Grand-AM," said David Chorley, Director Sales Development, Canada for South African Airways. "Everyone was very impressed with the stunning Vuvuzela car, Doran Racing, and the two drivers. Young Dion von Moltke, who is supported by our airline, is an impressive young man - not only a great race car driver, but someone who is a pleasure to spend time with. We are confident that he will go far in this sport, and we are excited to be part of his career!"

P1 Groupe Drivers Triumphant at Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres

Trinkler, Bell, and Sweeney Stand Out in GRAND-AM's Continental Tire Series

Altamonte Springs, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/19/2010 -- P1 Groupe, the premiere motorsports management company, had three of its drivers emerge triumphant this past weekend at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres at Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. Owen Trinkler coming off his strong win at the Garden State 250, with team owner Randy Smalley kept the momentum going with a win in the ST Class in his RSR Mini Cooper. Fan favorite Matt Bell, one of the upcoming stars of GRAND-AM racing, finished with teammate, Jeff Bucknum in third for the duo's second podium of the season and third Top-5 finish. Rising star, Mike Sweeney made his return to the series in the ST class at Trois-Rivieres did not disappoint fans earning his team its third Top-10 finish of the season. The Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres is part of GRAND-AM's Continental Tire Series.

Matt Bell had a rough start to the weekend as the rear of his #6 Stevenson Motorsports Camaro stepped out on him in his first lap of the weekend causing significant damage to the rear of the Sunoco Camaro. The team came through as they have all year long to give Bell, the winner of the 2009 Trois Rivieres round of the series, a car strong enough to allow Bell to muster a Top-10 qualifying effort. Bell would steadily make up ground on the leaders in the GS class of the Continental Tire Challenge Series before turning the car over to team mate Jeff Bucknum. Bucknum continued where Bell left off and crossed the line in 3rd for the duo's second podium of the season and third Top-5 finish.

"My all-in-one-day race weekend didn't get off to the start I had wanted, that was sure," said Matt Bell. "Within the first four laps of the morning practice, I had found my way into two walls, damaging all four corners of our iconic blue and yellow Sunoco Camaro. It was an unfortunate mistake, and the first of its kind I've made so far in my career. We are very lucky that the Stevenson Motorsport crew is as dedicated to our race effort as they proved to be. All their work initially paid off as we rolled out for qualifying, with little time to spare."

"I placed the car in 9th place, not really what I wanted to reward the crew with for their efforts," continued Bell. "By the start of the race, Jeff and I knew we had to commit to fighting for some results for the exhausted team. By the first lap I had made up a couple places and when I handed the car over to Jeff, I had made it to the Top 5."

"My efforts to the top were pale in comparison to the exciting race Jeff made for himself," concluded Bell. With glowing brake rotors, Jeff made a pass for a spot on the podium with just a few corners left, on the final lap. With moments to spare in the exhausting event, the Sunoco Camaro driving team repaid all of Stevenson Motorsports teams' work. The result was a testament to the hard working Stevenson crew and the effective competitiveness of even the most battle wounded Chevrolet Camaro. "Of course I would have never experienced any of these amazing feats if it wasn't for P1 Groupe placing me in the position to compete with such an incredible team in such an iconic car." states Bell of his management team.

Mike Sweeney was making his return to the series and the ST class with a new team in Compass 360 after taking the last four rounds off. Sweeney would team with Gregory Liefooghe in the #77 Honda Civic SI and the tandem would be up to speed straight away posting the 6th fastest time of the first practice session. Sweeney would qualify the car 13th for the start of the race while having issues with the rev limiter kept him from reaching the ultimate pace with the car, and his steady pace throughout would see him running consistently in the Top-6 for much of the race before turning the car over to his co-driver who would bring the car home in 6th position for the teams third Top-10 finish of the season with the #77 entry.

"I'm so glad I got this opportunity, so a huge thanks goes out to Karl and his whole Compass360 Racing team, they built a great car and really run a tight ship," said Mike Sweeney. "I love this event, the fans are amazing, and the track really rewards a smart, precise, and aggressive driver. We ran our race with that in mind. No one was going to beat the Mini or the MX-5s today, so I'm pretty happy with our result, but most importantly, I'm happy to be back in the series and in a front-running car!"

Keeping the momentum that he has shown in New Jersey just weeks earlier, Owen Trinkler drove his way to a second straight win in the ST Class in his RSR Motorsports Mini Cooper S with teammate and team owner Randy Smalley. After leading more than 30 laps in 2009 and coming in with a half lap lead on the competition only to have the seat break during the driver change, Trinkler wanted the victory that escaped him a season ago. Trinkler set the pace all race weekend taking the fast lap in each of the two practice sessions, and Smalley qualified within the Top-10, less than one tenth of a second off their #197 team car of Cattaneo/Mirzayan. Trinkler took over the car from Smalley and took over the race shortly thereafter by passing Tom Long of Freedom Autosport team with 40 minutes remaining and led the final 32 laps of the 91 lap event in the #198 Cruise America/4 Winds RV Mini Cooper S.

"It was great to get that win that I thought the team earned a year ago," said Owen Trinkler. "These last two races have really put the fire into this team and given Randy the results he's deserved as a driver, but even more as a team owner. Randy has helped a lot of drivers kick off their racing careers in his cars and I'm happy to not only be driving with him, but to have him standing next to me on the podium has been great."
Trinkler is looking to add a second straight win this weekend as he dominated much of this event in 2009 and handed the car over to his team mate well in the lead before ultimately finishing 11th.

"We had a great run last year at this track, and the Mini is great on brakes, which is another asset the Mini has over our competitors at this circuit" exudes Trinkler. "Based on our run last season, and coming off a win the last race out, our entire team is pumped for this weekend, we're looking to pick up where we took off."

Rising star, Mike Sweeney is joining the Compass 360 team in the #77 Honda Civic SI with Gregory Liefooghe. Sweeney finished the 2009 event sharing a car with fellow P1 driver Dion von Moltke en route to the pairs 7th place finish.

"I can't explain how stoked I am to be back in a car," said Mike Sweeney. "I am more motivated than ever to get out front this weekend, and I'm confident this team will give me the car to do it! The Compass 360 team has accomplished great results over the past few seasons and I can't wait to climb behind the wheel of their Honda Civic SI with Greg and continue the teams' run of top results."

"My management team at P1 Groupe and I have been really working hard to put a program together and want to thank Karl Thomson of Compass 360 for this opportunity," continued Sweeney. "Bonjour Quebec, allez y Compass 360!"
