The home has been a safe sanctuary for thousands of Bahamian children since 1956, when the haven was created as a result of a fire in the mid-1950s in Nassau. The organization presented the home with supplies, food and other necessities for the children to bring joy to the hearts of the young residents.

The foundation continued its Mission of Mercy Tour to The Bahamas Children's Emergency Hostel, where temporary accommodations and necessities are provided for neglected and abandoned children until a permanent arrangement can be made for their wellbeing. The organization aimed to brighten the Easter holiday for the children by completing their Mission of Mercy initiative. About 98% of the children at the facility were picked up by the side of the road after being abandoned. When In Need also paid for little Michael Ambrose's successful emergency surgery, a two year old that had been diagnosed with hemorrhoids. On February 27th 2015, When in Need Foundation, in collaboration with the Clinton Foundation and the Friends of Rockaway, participated in a community event by helping to rebuild a home that was damaged by Hurricane Sandy in Rockaway's New York City.

The CEO learned that Angelina and her sister, Angelica, had been abandoned with no documentation. Orfanato Ninos de Cristo came to their rescue offering them a new home in 2013.
