Costa Mesa, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/31/2015 -- Marine Staff Sergeant Aaron Guyett is Co-Owner of and Head Coach at Innovative Results (IR) Gym. In a period of over ten years, Guyett has trained thousands who have achieved their own success stories. Similar to his clients, Guyett has been making a name for himself in the world of Kettlebell/Girevoy Sport.

In 2014, Guyett claimed the American Record in Men's Amateur Biathlon. At the 2015 California Open held at Innovative Results, he competed in Men's Professional Long Cycle and yielded 53 repetitions with 32kg kettlebells. These numbers made Guyett the highest American coefficient lifter, catapulting him towards the process of qualifying for the IUKL World Championship in Dublin, Ireland.

While Guyett is an active Marine Corps Reservist, his service to the country created difficulties in the training cycle. Although he had designed a 12-week training progression working up to Nationals in Chicago, half of this time was split between training with the Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, California and then at Quantico, Virginia. Despite having limited time and resources, Guyett persevered. He said, "There were certain times where I would only have 15 minutes in the early morning hours before reveille at 5:30, so I would try to hit certain total repetitions in the dark. Other times, I would train with my Marines as a way to build camaraderie."

In July, Guyett traveled to Chicago to compete at the American Kettlebell Alliance National Championships. With a return to Biathlon in the Men's Professional Division and lifting 32kg kettlebells, he achieved 1st place in the 85kg weight category. Guyett's win guaranteed him a spot on the US team and the chance to represent Team USA in Dublin this November. As Guyett said: "I look at lifting for USA as another way I can serve the nation I love. On June 6th and 7th, IR hosted the ONNIT Academy Level 1 Certification. Led by ONNIT Chief Fitness Officer John Wolf, the interactive 2-day workshop drew attendees from all over California and even the UK. Industry professionals got the chance to work with kettlebells, sandbags, suspension trainers, battle ropes, steel clubs, and steel maces. Besides ONNIT, IR has hosted Australia's ZUU/Ankorr crew. ZUU/Ankorr is known for its low-impact yet high energy group classes consisting of bodyweight, calisthenics, and "animal" movements. Costa Mesa, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/16/2015 -- Innovative Results Gym (IR), Orange County's "Fitness Playground," will host the 2015 California Open Kettlebell Championship, the biggest Kettlebell Sport competition in the United States. Organized by Orange Kettlebell Club (OKC), this exciting annual event eagerly anticipates the arrival of near 150 athletes to compete in 200 competitive lifts.

Several lifters from abroad are expected, most notably three Russian Masters: Sergei Merkulin, Sergey Rachinskiy, and Denis Vasilev. Merkulin "holds the world record for most World Championships by any Kettlebell Sport Lifter in history." Rachinskiy, known as "The Ultimate Girevik," is a 9-Time World Champion. Vasilev is the World Record Holder in Long Cycle.

While the Russian Masters will grace Costa Mesa with their presence, what ushers the California Open Kettlebell Championship into the global stratosphere is OKC's unprecedented shift in award recognition. Instead of awarding cash prizes or trophies, OKC will sponsor the highest coefficient lifters in Biathlon, Long Cycle, and Snatch to compete at the IUKL World Championship in Ireland.
