Remembering the Tragic Flight of Germanwings Flight 9525

Los Angeles, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/20/2015 -- Wrongful Death Consultants president George Hatcher has posted a new website remembering Germanwings Flight 9525. The site commemorates the tragic flight that occurred on 24 March 2015, when a Germanwings Airbus en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf crashed in the French Alps, killing 144 passengers, two pilots, and four cabin crew members.

At the time of the crash, the pilot was locked out, and Andreas Lubitz was alone in the cabin, as the plane was directed toward the alps. An immediate consequence of this tragic event is that the European Aviation Safety Agency began recommending that two authorized persons always be in the cockpit when a plane is underway.

The GermanWings case will be handled under an international agreement called the Montreal Treaty or the Montreal Convention, formally, the Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage by Air. The Montreal Convention is a multilateral treaty under which there's a maximum cap an operator has to pay; however, that cap does not apply unless the operator (i.e. the carrier Germanwings/Lufthansa) can prove it had no culpability in the crash. "That's a dead issue in this case," explains Mr. Hatcher, "Therefore, the amount a family can get is technically without limit. The family must provide provable damages, This applies to pecuniary (economic) damages. Non-pecuniary damages, i.e. pain and suffering, etc. would have to be negotiated because there is no provision in montreal for that."

Millions of cars affected by Takata Airbag Recall. Does your car have one of the flawed airbags?

Los Angeles, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/02/2015 -- George Hatcher, one of California's leading consultants, announced a new website that focuses on the Takata Airbag recall. Twenty-four million cars have been recalled due to the faulty inflator in Takata Airbags. The inflator breaks down to flying shrapnel after explosive airbag deployment, and has been tied to a growing number of deaths and injuries. The media has focused largely on the Hondas recalled, but the problem is not limited to Takata Airbags installed in Hondas.

Hatcher's website lists the cars involved, and will be keeping up with the news concerning Takata Airbag issues, like Takata Corp being subject to a "$14000 per-day fine for failing to fully cooperate with the investigation" and the airbag maker dumping millions of pages of documents on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
