Each model can boast 605 litres of boot space with the rear seats in place or 1,620 once the rear seats are folded down.

Kintore, Aberdeenshire -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/10/2015 -- Volkswagen is preparing a large arsenal of new metal for next month's Geneva Motor Show, including new Touran and Sharan MPVs and a light off-roader in the form of the new Passat Alltrack.

The new Touran is set to share a platform with the VW Golf and the Seat Leon and will be almost 20% more efficient than the previous model. Launched in 2003, the mid-size Touran MPV is one of VW's most important models, and the firm won't be making big changes to the exterior, but the new generation will be slightly larger, sleeker and more sophisticated-looking.

The larger Sharan will also be treated to a more economical range of engines and some new modern technology. Due to reach the UK market in autumn, like the Touran the Sharan will change little on the outside. However, the interior will boast a higher-quality fit and finish and VW's new infotainment system.

The all-new Passat Alltrack is a more rugged version of the estate. Permanent all-wheel drive, an elevated ride height and a beefy body kit will allow some gentle off-roading, but there will be very little difference between the Alltrack and the original car on the inside apart from useful technology.
