Greater London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/23/2015 -- Honda revealed a hatchback concept said to be a preview the next-generation Civic at last week's New York International Auto Show, and took the opportunity to announce 200 million pounds of investment in its UK manufacturing facilities.

The fifth-generation Civic hatchback is expected in 2018 and is due to be manufactured at Honda's factory in Swindon. While the Japanese firm was reticent on details, the concept's design pointed to an exciting sportier look and feel which could offer a serious challenge to rivals such as the Ford Focus. The standard model Civic will be accompanied by a high-performance Type R specification.

Honda's 200 million pound investment in its UK manufacturing facilities is a major boost to the British automotive industry and will see the Swindon plant become the hub of Civic production for the global market.

Newton Honda is excited by the possibilities offered by the concept and other new Honda offers. 2017 should see the return of the Honda CR-Z sport coupe, while this summer sees the arrival of the latest and fastest Civic Type R yet, which famously beat the Renault Megane 275 Trophy R's record-breaking Nurburgring lap time by more than three seconds.

The Japanese motor company, Honda, unveiled their latest Jazz model at the 85th Geneva Motor Show. This is the latest incarnation of the firm’s favourite subcompact model.

Greater London, Surrey -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/16/2015 -- It is an update of Honda's third generation Jazz, which was launched in 2013 in North America. Initially, it will be available to the Indian market, and will be built there. The new model is 95mm longer than the previous car and has more luggage capacity. It is expected that the ability to fold the rear seats completely flat will be built into this new model.

A 1.3 litre I-VTEC (petrol) or a 1.5 litre I-DTEC (diesel) engine powers the new Honda Jazz. The gearbox is a 5-speed CVT configuration, with the performance model incorporating a paddle shift. Later in the year, Honda is expected to release a hybrid petrol/electric version with a 1.5 litre motor.

Inside the vehicle, there are numerous changes. Honda Connect is included with a 5-inch touchscreen, upgradable to 7 inches, that runs on Android Auto with MirrorLink, built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Included is HDMI and USB connectivity.

New safety systems have been built into the new Jazz. The Advance Driver Assist System will be fitted as standard on all except the entry-level trim cars. The full trim details are yet to be announced, but once again, Honda is expected to offer a high level of flexibility with this new car.

The introduction of the latest model is bound to spark interest throughout the world and lead to a fast turnover of Hondas across all markets. This means that there will be plenty of new Honda offers available as dealers capitalise on the interest that a new model launch generates. Add to this the fact that, in the UK, demand for new cars is increasing and it is likely that Honda dealers will have a busy quarter.

It is expected that the new Jazz will reach the UK's shores in the summer of 2015. The price has yet to be announced, but it is expected to retail at around £11,531
