NFS Takes the Multi-Generational Debate with Barclays and Pareto FM

NFS Technology Group has confirmed a seminar slot at the Facilities Show 2015, in partnership with Barclays Bank and Pareto FM, to discuss the multi-generational workplace and how this influences the roles and responsibility of the future FM.

Barbeque Downs, Gauteng -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/17/2015 -- On Tuesday 16th June 2015 at 2.40pm in the Workplace Interior Theatres, NFS will showcase its research on managing the five generations in the workplace from millenials (born after 1995) through to maturists (pre-1945), including investigating differences in aspirations and attitudes, communication preferences and technology alongside decision-making protocol.

Luis de Souza, CEO of NFS will be chairing the debate, and joined by Katharine Photiou, Head of Workplace Savings at Barclays Wealth Investment who has completed extensive research on 'exploring the benefits engagement challenge' with regards to the priorities of today's workplace generations.

Andrew Hulbert, Managing Director of Pareto FM is also on the panel debate, ready to use his influence as an award winning Young Facilities Manager and leader of a national search for young talent.

Katharine Photiou from Barclays said: "Employers are faced with a situation in which they must adapt to the multigenerational workplace to survive. But knowing where to start, how to involve staff and understand their different aspirations, and grasping what can be achieved can all feel overwhelming. So what are the steps you need to take to engage at every level? The panel discussion will consider these aspects and explore in detail how to adapt to the changes in the workplace to enable multi-generations to work together in harmony."

The panel discussion is part of the Facilities Management Show's dedicated Academy, created to examine all the key features in facilities management alongside important topics and common challenges directly relating to interior space in commercial buildings.

Luis de Souza, CEO of NFS Technology Group and Chair of the Debate added: "For the first time in history, we are seeing up to five different generations in the workplace. These generations share the same managers, rub shoulders in the same spaces and collaborate on the same projects — but that is where the similarities end.

"This panel discussion is a vital opportunity to look at the challenges of a workforce embracing an age gap of up to 50 years, and the values, drivers and needs of these different generations. Throw in the rapid changing world of technology and mobile media, and it's no surprise that employers have to deal with many issues. The debate will seek to explore some of the main issues that employers and the FM community will need to address in order to achieve good productivity and collaboration in the workplace."

Talking about my generation: Exploring the benefits engagement challenge is taking place from 2.40 – 3.10pm on Tuesday 16th June in the Workplace Interiors Theatre at the Facilities Show 2015.

Continued Hotel Sector Growth Predicted for UK – NFS Technology Group Comments

Barbeque Downs, Gauteng -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2015 -- NFS Technology Group, the company behind roomMaster, a powerful hotel software utilised by British hotels, has reacted to a new industry forecast which predicts strong growth in the UK into 2016.

The prediction was made by PwC who say that record rates and occupancy in the regions and London is sit to continue for several years. More specifically, they predicted that RevPAR in London will grow to 4.6% this year, with a record high of 84% occupancy and £144 ADR achieved. In 2016, they say London can expect 4.7% growth and an ADR of £151.

The regions however should achieve 76% occupancy this year and next with ADR to rise by 4.4% and 4.6% and RevPAR by 5.4% and 5.1% for each respective year.

NFS Technology Group, the company behind popular hotel software roomMaster, believes improving hotel service driven by software and successful tourism campaigns are helping to fuel growth in the capital and elsewhere.

A spokeswoman for the company said: "The hospitality sector in the UK has witnessed positive growth over the last several years, particularly hotels, and like PwC we're confident that this will continue for 2015 and 2016. With more people choosing to travel the UK, and more people in the UK choosing to holiday at home, it's not surprising that hotel figures are as strong as they are at the moment.

"We also believe that one of the biggest drivers of growth is the improving standards of hotels. Hoteliers are now understanding the importance of and really beginning to utilise cutting edge software solutions, like our popular roomMaster suite.

"Hotels in the UK are some of the best in the world and customers can thank the increasing use of hotel software for that."

PwC head of hospitality, Liz Hall, explained: "The hotel sector faces plenty of challenges and geopolitical uncertainties. But we are optimistic in its ability to compete, adapt and succeed; especially now economic fundamentals of rising prosperity and increased globalisation have re-asserted themselves following the financial crisis.

"There are new trends that hoteliers need to consider and start to adapt to in 2015 and beyond. For example, the increasing potential for hotels to use robots and Artificial Intelligence to cut costs and improve the customer experience and to introduce new smartphone enabled technology. With pressure on rates continuing, we expect hotels to continue to find innovative ways to reduce costs in order to maintain their margins and customer experience."

Employment on the Increase: Rendezvous Reflects

Barbeque Downs, Gauteng -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2015 -- According to Office for National Statistics, with the news that employment increased in the three months to December by 103,000, this affirms also that the employment rate is at the joint highest level since records began in 1971. This prospect of economic strength has prompted discussion from leading businesses such as Rendezvous group, owned by NFS technology, who hold significant responsibility for managing the places where this work occurs.

In the three months to December, the employment rate was driven to 73.2%, a peak only to be matched once in 2005 since records began more than 25 years ago. In turn, with the fall in oil prices at the beginning of 2015 and now the prospect of the coming spring months, this is a positive trend which could be set to continue.

The unemployment rate has continued to fall, with most recent recordings marking it at 5.7%. Not only does this mean significant things for the economy, but significant things for the workplace. Approaching the General Election, may people will not only be maintaining decisions based on their situations and outlook of employment, but also their work conditions. Ensuring rooms and schedules are fully functional is an immediate priority in this light.

Rendezvous, who are specialists in business software solutions, are frequent commentators on the social impact of changes in the business sector. "It is of course brilliant news that employment is increasing," a spokesperson said. "However, to support this growth it is important to consider the role of the workplace within it.

"It is beyond doubt that innovations within the world of office and business strength have shaped such a trend. With the most successful companies currently employing modern strategies of time-space management and even a flexible workforce, this allows for employment and business productivity to be simultaneously high.

"Software has played a significant role in this. As leading business software providers, we know how central solutions such as room scheduling and video conferencing facilities have been to making companies the connections they need to expand. More and more businesses are taking up the advantage of software to keep one step ahead of the competition, connecting them with the best clients for the best role in places which matter. Our room booking Rendezvous software is just one example of how the dynamism of the working environment can increase further over the coming months."

Barbeque Downs, Gauteng -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/30/2015 -- According to the recent Meetings Africa 2015 event hosted in Johannesburg from 23-25 February, the country is expected in the next five years, to hold approximately 177 international major events. Such rich event prospects have excited comments from leading specialists in the field, NFS technology group.
However, not only are the predictions for the next five years optimistic, but there is also considerable growth anticipated in just the next two years. Within an expected revenue of R one billion in this period due to delegate visits, this suggests that events in the country are a strategic as well as a secure method of allowing for economic growth.

This expansion and acceleration in the business events sector could be seen as driven by a number of important factors. Economic expansion in key townships in the country as allowed for substantial growth, as well as improvements made to infrastructure, and crucially, investments in technology.

The Meetings Africa Event which shed light on these statistics is itself a prime example of successful event-hosting. With many more due, it can be anticipated that getting the management right behind these events is thus essential.

Leading experts in the field of events management through software, NFS technology group,. Were quick to comment.

"The predicted statistics show the real economic promise of events hosting in South Africa for 2015" a company spokesperson said "therefore it is important that venues and especially the hospitality industries involved within the hosting are as prepared as possible.

With such a high influx of delegate numbers due, we empathize that it can be difficult to appropriate issues venue and event co-ordination manually. That is why considering software as a solution is now key, as allows for a best-of-breed means of helping to organize an event – from room o-ordaining and scheduling, to seating plans."
