Belfast's 'Fine Art of Furniture' Draws Attention to Interior Essentials

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/21/2015 -- An exhibition at the Museum of Ulster has recently opened, titled 'Crafted: The Fine Art of Furniture'; highlighting how furniture and tastes in home interiors have developed over three centuries. The exhibition is especially important as it allows people to see what is outdated, compared with pieces from the past that still would typically be regarded as 'desirable'. The significant impact of international influences is also shown, highlighting a brilliant human history of furniture. It is expected that many furniture providers will be paying heed to this furniture celebration and ensuring they offer models accordingly.

Mankind has a long and complex relationship with furniture. It provides an insight into social change – as the exhibition shows the progression of furniture being used for function, then status and even later, comfort. Furthermore, furnishings also showcase the work of great craftsmen; with chairs and tables shaped from cuts of wood offering instant visual appeal and still proving popular today.

Keen to comment on the exhibition and the increased public focus on furniture was Interior Supply, a luxury furniture supplier, based in London.

They are frequent commentators on industry news and a spokesperson had this to say:

"We think that the 'Crafted' exhibition in Belfast is very important, as brings much-needed positive attention to our relationship with furniture. After all, furniture plays a central part in our lives and home, and therefore should not be underestimated. The exhibition emphasizes that furniture can be personal and even art in itself; positive factors we strive to uphold in our own stock. Especially notable in the exhibition, was the enduring appeal of a well-designed bed; seen as a staple of the family home for many years. We offer a range of beds which bring classical design in-line with modern comfort, including our Lema options."

Link Between Lack of Sleep and Kidney Disease Is Revealed: Interior Supply Comments

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/19/2015 -- Many people are aware that poor sleep routines can be detrimental to our health. However, recent research has indicated a link to specific conditions aggravated by lack of sleep – such as kidney disease. Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital carried out a study which involved 4,200 women and considered sleep alongside their health. Results indicated that those who slept for less than 5 hours a day had a greater risk of developing kidney disease.

Further consideration of the results suggests that for women with poor sleeping habits, 65% saw a decline in kidney function, whilst this was not the case for those women who had a regular 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night. More research is expected to be undertaken, as it is expected that lack of sleep may have similar significant health impacts on men also.

That a lack of sleep is being linked to a decline in major organ function is worrying, and is set to increase public awareness on the importance of having a good night's rest. Sleep is a necessary feature of life, and it is expected that people will be encouraged to treat it with greater regard and more positively – such as through making their bed and bedtime something to look forward to. After all, this could mean the difference between health and illness.

Quick to comment on the issue of sleep and why it is now ever-more important that we make proper consideration of it, was Interior Supply. They are prime providers of a range of luxury beds, as well as other furniture options and a spokesperson had this to say:

"The findings reveal how potentially damaging a lack of good sleep can be. We would urge anyone to take the time to consider their sleep routine more positively, and put measures in place so it is prioritised. Investing in a bed which makes you feel at ease may well be part of this. Sleep is something to make you feel good, and it therefore matters that you have a good environment in which to do it!"

Having Fine Furniture Online Matters to Consumers: Interior Supply Comments

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/20/2015 -- Recent figures released by Statistica reflecting on 2014 highlight some interesting information regarding furniture-purchasing trends. It was shown that the biggest proportion of those interviewed, 43%, bought furniture from a provider whose site they had visited. This emphasizes that an attractive online presence is important and highly valued in terms of making interior choicesa. In turn, the best providers will strive to provide a quality online experience.

The advantages of online furniture shopping are well-recognised. This is because the consumer can easily browse through often extensive selections from the comfort of their home. The internet also provides them with the opportunity to compare prices, preferences and also conduct further research into the piece they are selecting. Online furniture shopping is set to grow towards the Christmas period too, as many families strive to ensure they have enough comfortable seating especially to cater for guests during the festive period.

About Interior Supply
Interior Supply is a prime example of a furniture supplier with a strong online presence. They know the importance of having an appealing website for customers to visit and were keen to comment on the released figures.

They are frequent commenters on industry news and a spokesperson had this to say:

"There is evidently a significant proportion of people who find assurance from looking at furniture online. After all, it is an ideal way of browsing through extensive ranges – something we offer here at Interior Supply. However, one area where some customers find online shopping difficult is this – that they cannot be 100% sure of the quality of the products. When they see furniture in its physical form, you can be sure it suits your specifications, whereas this is more difficult to evaluate online. That is why we offer only the highest quality pieces which people can order from our site, linked with some of the best designers. We also have a showroom people can browse too."

Consumer Spending Experienced an Increase in July, Interior Supply Comments

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/15/2015 -- Premium European furniture suppliers, Interior Supply, have recently commented on the Office of National Statistics report, which reveals spending was on the up in July, thanks to a number of factors.

The Office of National Statistics report reveals that sales rose 4.3% year on year in July, and an increase from 4.2% in June. The delay in interest rates due to the economic crisis in China will also help spending in the coming months, helping the economy in the UK to improve even further than it already has, thanks to a decrease in fuel and food prices, which has contributed to the increase in consumer spending on the high street and online.

The amount of individuals making claims due to being jobless, has also been experiencing a decrease, meaning a further enhancement in consumption figures as people are earning the money to spend.

Often commenting on industry related news, a spokesperson for Interior Supply said, 'The strong consumer spending over summer is great news, and low prices elsewhere allows people to treat themselves to items they've always wanted.

If you're enjoying the benefits of cheaper fuel and food, why not bring your home to life with truly stylish furniture? We sell a great range of imported European stock, and it's available to more consumers than ever before thanks to the lower prices of living!'

About Interior Supply

Online Shopping Remains Dominant in 2015, Interior Supply Responds

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/11/2015 -- Leading import furniture store, Interior Supply, has recently commented on the news which reveals online shopping remains the leading source of sales for companies, with unprepared businesses struggling on the high street.

The figures show a 3 per cent decrease in high street footfall in June, a trend which has been on a continuing decline. It's been noted that stores which specialise in European brands tend to do best on the high street, and these type of stores have started to find success in areas such as Bond Street.

Often commenting on industry related news, a spokesperson for Interior Supply said, 'The new figures show what many businesses have expected, that online is a necessity for businesses hoping to succeed. The high street is a place for more exotic brands currently, and that's one area Interior Supply has, thanks to the high class European furniture we sell.

Our online business is booming, but the best thing about having a show room to display furniture, is that our high street presence isn't seeing a drop either. People like to look before they buy when it comes to furniture, so we have both types of buyers looking into our European furniture. It benefits to specialise in something you can't find everywhere, and it can keep you successful both on and offline. '

Study Finds That People Are Happier in Natural Interior Design

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/20/2015 -- A recent study led by an organizational psychologist has revealed some important results for those who are conscious of their living or working space. Take the office for instance, the results suggest that a space with natural elements reports a 15% higher level of wellbeing, 6% increase in productivity and a 15% rise in creativity overall. These natural elements can include natural lighting through the use of more windows and plants. In fact low lighting, and a lack of natural light was linked to employee stress and very low readings indicating unhappiness.

This may not come as a surprise to may interior designers, yet the impacts on organizational efficiency could be huge for businesses who may be overlooking this part of their management. And with many parts of the world seeing great increases in stress and mental illness, a change in environment could provide the right solution to a complex problem.

About Interior Supply
Interior Supply are prime suppliers of contemporary designer furniture and lighting and have a diverse range of choices to cater to all tastes. They are active in their industry and regularly comment on any updates or news. Following the results of the study, a spokesperson had this to say, 'This is fascinating news and could have implications for everyone. We all have to be inside for long periods of our lives whether that be at home or at work and if the study is finding that the aesthetics of our environment have an impact on so many different aspects of our lives, then it is certainly worth taking a note of. We've noticed that our clients like their environment to reflect who they are as a person, and this is certainly worth considering. We supply luxury furniture in all forms and for all preferences, and provide a unique service to each of our customers with only the highest quality of product and design. We have always intuitively felt it is crucial to wellbeing and are glad that studies are backing this up now.'

Interior Design Influences Your Psychology

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/15/2015 -- Recent research conducted on housewives in Iran suggests that the quality of the interior of your home and a lack of suitable interior decorations could have a negative impact upon your health and wellbeing. Researchers collated data on 250 housewives within the cosmopolitan city of Ardebil in Iran and found that dissatisfaction with the interior of their home and a perceived lack of interior decorations was associated with reports of greater stress and a lower quality of life. Furthermore, the self-perceptions of housewives contributed to relative satisfaction or dissatisfaction in life, where researchers found that the women perceived themselves as worse off than their peers. They also expressed a dissatisfaction with traditional home designs.

The implications of this study echo recent neuro-marketing research which indicates that people's mood is significantly correlated with the aesthetic feel of the interior of their home. In particular, recent publications stress the effects of colour on mood and how this can impact a person's health and wellbeing. The majority of people in the world, in the West in particular, spend their time indoors. Whether that be in educational establishments, workplaces or the home. Therefore the effect of this research can have wide-ranging impact if taken on board.

Interior Supply, a supplier of contemporary designer furniture and lighting based in London, was quick to comment on the findings. With over 20 years of experience in supplying and sourcing some of the finest European designer furniture, a spokesperson for the company had this to say, 'We are extremely excited by this news, and it is something which we consider to be true from our own experience. Our clients are usually designers or private residents with very particular tastes. This is why we like to get to know our clients and provide them with a bespoke furniture purchasing experience which will reflect their lifestyle choices and suit their personality. It is crucial for us to get this fit right. In light of this research, it seems that this is a customer preference which is on the rise as people realise that their surroundings can impact upon their mental health and wellbeing. This is also why we are invested in a future which places the human being at the centre of design in a holistic and humane manner.'

Psychologist Discusses the 'IKEA Rage Test', Interior Supply Responds

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/20/2015 -- Leading UK supplier of European furniture, Interior Supply, have recently commented on the 'IKEA Rage Test', which was coined by psychologist Ramani Durvasula, an idea that constructed the furniture often causes break ups.

Professor Durvasula has determined that furniture purchased from IKEA can be a test for many relationships, due to the frustration that comes with setting them up. Particularly of note is the Liatorp storage, which is considered the toughest to build, with a 32 page instruction booklet, and 169 screws to contend with when building. Not forgetting that the screws are a collection of 22 different types and there are 13 pieces of wood to root through. It has been labelled as 'the ultimate relationship test'.

At £825, the 9ft wide, 7ft high shelf has been highlighted as the toughest in the IKEA range, and Professor Durvasula said, 'Some pieces of furniture require two hands, two people, pieces of glass, making drawers.

Because it requires so much collaboration, so much cooperation, and there's a potential that someone could get hurt if this thing comes crashing down, you better be on the same page. This statement shows that the construction can't be completed alone, hence the relationship test.

Professor Durvasula isn't the only person to deem IKEA furniture a nightmare to assemble, and parodies on Twitter have cropped up displaying just how tedious a task it is to construct a simple shelf or table. Even the hit comedy show 30 Rock has featured the iconic furniture, with a show breakup over an attempted construction of one of the company's products.

Often commenting on industry news, a spokesperson for Interior Supply said, 'Sometimes furniture can be a pain to set up, and quite often it just isn't worth it. And it doesn't tend to last either, making it even more of a frustrating experience, as you just know it won't be long till you have to go back and replace the table or shelf with a new one waiting to be constructed. Sometimes it's just better to avoid the concept of construction all together, and invest in something which will last, and lack any sense of rage.

At interior supply, our range of high quality furniture is a lifetime investment, and requires no rage test to set up either!'

Milan Furniture Fair 2015: Interior Supply Reflect

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/18/2015 -- Recent coverage of the Milan Furniture Fair has caused much discussion in the furniture industry, with a number of key implications for homeowners; especially those passionate about interior design. The Milan Furniture Fair is the biggest event of its kind in Europe, and draws inspiration from across continents. The furniture fair itself closed on the 19th April and showed popularity and interest with over 400,000 visitors recorded.

Commentators have noted a strong postmodern feel to the event which experts in the industry have been quick to reflect upon.

A highlight especially of the series of showing were the palazzo arrangements through which some of the exhibitions were staged. These consisted of gilt and marble podiums, hosting names high in the fashion and interior industries such as the Campanna brothers and Fabrica designers. A key theme amidst the postmodern, it has been noted, was 'housewarming'. This saw an array of engaging designs to be incorporated within the home, including plant pots and swing chairs.

Interior Supply are leading providers of luxury fashionable furniture to the UK. They were quick to comment in light of the furniture trends and also in awareness of The Milan Expo 2015, which opened on Friday.

"The events of the furniture fair in Italy highlight such a beautiful array of contemporary design," a spokesperson told us "Especially popular are Italian deigns themselves, which can incorporate an elegant feel – especially high-backed chairs and rustic colourings. As furniture providers, we are fully aware of these trends and that is why we strive to provide people with what is popular, as well as stunning. The Furniture Fair consolidates the utter importance of fine interiors and that is something we strive to deliver every day."

'Home + Interiors 2016 Predictions': Interior Supply Comments

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/24/2015 -- Recent news from Pantone LLC, also known as the global authority on color, has risen in prominence – including emphasizing certain shades as being potentially popular for 2015 and 2016.

The emphasis on colored furnishing ultimately shows the importance of maintaining trends even in the details of home furnishing.

A particularly popular shade, Pantone LL have noted, is Marsala – which is a robust wine-red color, a little like burgundy. This injects interest into any room and pairs well with a variety of other shades, both light and dark.

This is especially popular in regards to furniture – as a table or set of chairs in a bold color can really make a lasting impression; it accentuates that details do matter when it comes to furnishing, and this can especially boost businesses involved in hospitality significantly.

Furthermore, Pantone reveal edits 'home + interiors 2016' predictions; it provides both designers and buyers with ideas to keep in mind regarding color decisions. This news in the area of interior design has excited much comment, especially from industry experts such as Interior Supply – a business who pride themselves on selling quality, contemporary furnishings.

"The emphasis upon coloring in interior products is highly important as well as exciting," a spokesperson commented. "After all, from knowing the forecast, we can make available pieces which will be at the height of style this summer.

"In line with the Pantone View predictions it includes natural forms such as calm, cooling shades, as well as dichotomy: embracing contrasts to really make that emphasis within the home.Focusing upon color and style are elements that should be taken seriously, as it gives you an option to really create somethings capturing and notable when making choices for your home.

"Another popular color concept, especially in regard to rugs and elements on the floor, is the rise of the 'soft focus'; typically composed of muted or blended colors, it versatile and can add detail to any space. That is why, in order to suit the styles and latest tastes, we stock a wide range of products changing according to the seasons."

Replica Furniture Production to Be Outlawed by 2020 – Interior Supply Comments

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/01/2015 -- Interior Supply, a seller of contemporary furniture in the UK, has reacted to news that the UK government has announced a 2020 deadline to make manufacturing and the sale of copied mass-produced designs against the law.

The long awaited law is set to take effect as of 6 April 2020 and will see furniture pieces protected in much the same way as music, video and books currently are.

As it stands at the moment, registered designs receive only 25 years of protection. But the upcoming change will mean that such designs are kept protected for 70 years after the designer's death.

Interior Supply often share their thoughts on industry related news and responded positively to the announcement.

A representative for the company said: "Most countries in Europe have had something similar in place for a number of years now so it's great to see that the UK is finally recognising that furniture, like any other work of art, should be given proper copyright protection.

"As a seller of contemporary furniture, with a portfolio which includes some of the best decor in Europe, we know from experience that there are a number of imitation products out there and it's a real shame to see the hard work of leading European furniture designers undone by copy-cat manufacturers without regard for quality or originality.

"At Interior Supply, we're committed to supplying authentic pieces from globally recognised sellers such as Cassina, Dom Edizioni, Fendi Casa, Lema and more."

The law changes were first outlined in the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 but the government was hesitant to bring it into effect immediately, expressing fear that many businesses in the UK would be affected for the worse by an immediate change in law.

Lucy Neville-Rolfe, intellectual property minister, stated: "Great design forms an integral part of our lives whether it be architecture, jewellery or home furnishings. Both cutting-edge designs and those that have stood the rest of time continue to be in high demand and we need to ensure designers have an appropriate incentive to create. But currently these artistic designs lose copyright protection after 25 years if they have been mass produced. This is unfair in comparison to other artistic works, like literature and music, which are protected for the life of the creator and 70 years.

"Having listened carefully to the views of designers and businesses, the Government has made the decision to implement the change in law in April 2020. When this happens, we hope the change will bring rewards for British designers and encourage a new generation to innovate and grow."
