Autonomous Vehicles Are Set to Crash: Zen Law Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/18/2015 -- As technology advances, self-driving cars are increasingly at the forefront of more media attention with their release expected in the next five years. Due to the research and production processes underway, there are now claims that autonomous cars will still have the potential to crash, despite Volvo previously claiming that it aims to have zero deaths in its cars by 2020 due to self-driving technology.

In the Spring budget of this year the government announced it would provide £100m to help the development and research needed to make self-driving cars a product of the future and to help the UK become a global hub for the development of such technologies.

From the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Driving, Iain Forbes said when talking to The Telegraph, that "there are currently 1,700 deaths a year on British roads" but the technology for autonomous cars wouldn't completely eradicate accidents from UK roads. He said "people would still have to be comfortable with 170 deaths a year."

Without accidents, the technology wouldn't reach its full potential and there is no guarantee that self-driving technology can stop road traffic accidents. People who own the cars will need to know how to use them and pedestrians will also need to be educated for them to be safe.

Road Traffic Accidents do still happen, and usually at the fault of someone else's negligence. Injuries can be serious and sometimes fatal and any measure to reduce those figures would be welcome. Zen Law solicitors specialise in injury from road traffic accidents and were keen to comment on the news: "Autonomous cars are innovative and look to be safer, however any vehicles should be treated with the same care and attention that standard cars are. Accidents can be serious on the road and we are here to help should they happen."

A Rise in Tanning Salon Claims Suggests Negligent Behavior: Zen Law Solicitors Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/21/2015 -- Recent reports have highlighted a rise in personal injury claims related to incidents in tanning salons. The news comes at the end of the summer months and moving towards autumn – when many people seek to top-up their holiday tan using sunbeds and related equipment. However, an increase in injury claims has occurred, especially relating to people being badly burned. A number of solicitors are reporting a rising number of out-of-court settlements to people who have been injured by tanning salon equipment.

A tanning salon is an example of an environment where although equipment is potentially dangerous, if it is used appropriately, according to health and safety regulations, then users should be at minimal risk. The staff and employer at the Salon, if fulfilling their responsibilities, should ensure that sunbed users have the right guidance and equipment before using a sunbed. Therefore, when circumstances arise that a user is burned or injured because they have been improperly instructed – this is not their fault – and they may be eligible to claim.

About Zen Law Solicitors
Zen Law Solicitors is a prime example of a legal team specializing in personal injury. They are experts in the field and frequently reflect on related news.

A spokesperson had this to say:

"That a rising number of people are submitting claims for sunbed burns and injuries suggests that there is a problem which much be addressed. That some salons are using faulty equipment or not briefing customers fully before use is highly negligent behaviour and placing users in an unfair position of risk. In a variety of public services there may be an element of risk, but this has to be effectively managed in relation to health and safety procedures. If people are injured because this is not upheld, they are entitled to legal action. Here at Zen Law solicitors we are passionate about turning action into justice and want all those affected to know that they have support."

Ethical Marketing Charter to Improve Personal Injury Law Practices: Zen Law Solicitors Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/14/2015 -- Recent reports have highlighted the launch of an Ethical Marketing Charter, with the aim of combating unprofessional marketing practices in relation to personal injury. Released in the North of England, a number of law firms have endorsed the move, which emphasizes the importance of providing reliable information, stopping any instances of nuisance marketing.

Personal injury is an area where the provision of the appropriate advice and legal guidance is crucial. It can become easy for people to feel overwhelmed by overblown claims figures and false advertising – statements which are often making unfeasible promises. Therefore, the introduction and interest in an ethical charter highlights a move likely to separate bogus claims from the genuine. Professional solicitors will most likely strive to provide an accessible, transparent service which provides realistic options to the client.

As the law frequently changes and circumstances vary from individual to individual, the importance of secure legal advice is all-the-more important. Known ethical practices after all provide clients with the assurance of a valid service and the help of an expert appropriately experienced in their field. After injury, having a full support service in place is a priority – and this includes quality legal care.

About Zen Law Ltd
A prime example of a team of solicitors dedicated to customer care and quality practice is Zen Law. Working from a strong Manchester base, they have a network of satisfied clients and extensive experience.

They care about ethical, informative processes and were quick to comment on the recent news:

"The publicity regarding an Ethical Marketing charter is important, we believe," A spokesperson said "And this raises important issues on the use of honest, professional practices in regards to personal injury. At Zen Law Solicitors, we take the time and patience to consider the circumstances affecting every client – no small print or short cuts. If the ethical Charter means that more will embrace this attitude, then that is certainly a good thing."

Four Times More Likely to Crash if You Drive Using a Phone: Zen Law Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/21/2015 -- Recent figures released by the road safety team 'Think!' as part of Direct Gov, reveal that you are four times MORE likely to crash, if you use a mobile phone when driving. The use of a phone at the wheel not only distracts from concentration and delays the response time of the individual, but also occupies at least one hand – reducing the control a person has over their vehicle.

The statistic therefore consolidates the importance of existing legislation– that to drive and use a mobile phone is against the law. Using a phone at the wheel places both the driver and those around them at considerable risk, with an increased chance of the vehicle striking pedestrians and failing to stop when necessary. Penalties for being caught are high, as it is such a dangerous activity, and can include a fine, driving ban and even a prison sentence.

In turn, driving and using a phone is negligent behaviour. It puts the person and those around them at increased risk because they are paying improper attention to their environment. Zen Law are a team of personal injury specialists, who often provide legal support regarding car accidents. They are also frequent commentators on industry news and were quick to reflect in light of the YouGov figures.

"We think that the statistic highlights how crucial it is for drivers to be responsible and keep aware at all times," A spokesperson said "After all, if a person is injured due to the driver being distracted by a phone or some other cause, it is highly tragic. For those who face the consequences of someone driving and using a phone, it is extremely frustrating – to be the victim of someone's negligence. However, we are here for people affected. We work to support those who have been in any kind of traffic accident they believe was not their fault."

Risks on the Road and Cycling: Zen Law Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/15/2015 -- According to a recent report, although safety on the roads is improving as a whole, an area not declining is the number of cyclists involved in road accidents. The findings were made through a combined research effort from the all-party Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety and the RAC Foundation. Although road deaths and serious injuries as a whole fell between 2010 and 2013, there were significant increases regarding cycling injuries with an increase of 16% when the 2009 average was compared with the 2013 average.

Furthermore, it is anticipated that the number of cyclists being injured on the roads is still increasing, especially as traffic numbers rise. The rise of dashcams to monitor traffic around cyclists, suggests that there has also been an increased focus by cyclists on the rising risks posed by the road.

About Zen Law
Zen Law are a key group of legal professionals, specialising in accident claims and personal injury legislation from a Manchester base. They are also frequent commentators on industry news and were quick to reflect on the increasing attention drawn again to the issue of cycling safety.

"We think that although the number of serious injuries and fatalities declining is good news, this should not mean that the rise of cyclists injured should go under-addressed," A spokesperson said "What is ultimately essential, is that if you are involved in an accident or face injury due to the fault of another – with car drivers' negligence often leading to cyclists being wrongly implicated and even injured– it is crucial that you as an individual get the legal support you deserve.

That cycling still continues to be an area in which people are injured on the roads suggests that there are many who deserve proper legal support. We urge anyone involved in an accident on the road, whether involving a bike, car or pedestrian, to seek professional legal advice for their circumstances. It is cataloguing and considering the details properly and working forwards for justice, which may hopefully be a contribution to cutting down the number of cyclists injured."

Medical Negligence Payouts Rise: Zen Law Comment

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/19/2015 -- It has been recently revealed that United Lincolnshire Hospitals trust paid out over £19 million in 2013/14 to cover medical negligence claims and compensate patients. The figures have been revealed by the NHS litigation authority, and although released only recently, highlight what many believe to be a growing extent of negligence within the health service, which is becoming a pressing issue.

Circumstances of medial negligence may include instance such as misdiagnosis, the deferral of proper treatment and incorrect treatment. The figures released ultimately represent a huge 94% rise of clinical negligence payouts made by the trust from the year before.Furthermore, it is anticipated that such high figures of medical negligence payouts are not just appropriate to Lincolnshire but also a number of other hospitals. After all, 166 Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) claims were received by the ULHT in 2013/14, highlighting a potential rise of instances of reported medical negligence across the board.

Zen Law are a group of experienced lawyers, with expertise in medical negligence as well as being frequent commentators on legal news. They were quick to comment in light of the released figures.

"Although the specific statistics released relate to Lincolnshire, it is essential that wherever you are, you are aware of your rights as a patient and within healthcare systems," A spokesperson told us "The rise of claims could be seen as an indicator that cases of negligence are increasing, which is concerning.

In turn, we strive to provide all with the most up-to-date information to people across the UK regarding their medical rights and we hope others will do the same."

Industrial Disease and Teaching: Zen Law Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/23/2015 -- Recent investigations into industrial diseases at work have produced some profound results, especially within teaching.

The widow of a teacher killed by mesothelioma has pursued information via a Freedom of Information Request to gain HSE figures. These have played a part in revealing that at least 291 teachers have died from mesothelioma since 1990. This includes three teachers dying of the disease on average every year in the 1990; estimates suggest that this now lies at 19 a year.

Mesothelioma is the formal title for the disease Asbestos – often associated with places of industrial work. The recent figures illuminated that it can be an issue in a number of working environments, even schools.

Zen law are specialists in personal injury and industrial disease law, as well as frequent commentators in the field. They have been quick to comment on the raised figures.

"The information raised regarding asbestos and how it has been affecting teachers will be potentially shocking to many," a spokes person said. "It is a tragedy that people have been exposed to conditions like this and important that those who have or believed they have been exposed, get the justice they deserve.

"Asbestos was widely used as fire proofing and insulation solution in buildings typically built between1950 and 1990 – as it is a naturally occurring fibrous material. However, if disturbed, it can be incredibly dangerous. It is potentially present in a number of public buildings, thus why inspection is key.

"What is evident is that working buildings must be properly surveyed and safety standards met before employees can operate within them. Safety at work is the employee's right and if standards fall short in any way, it is within a person's right to seek legal advice. We hope that these figures will raise awareness of asbestos and the importance of getting all working environments properly inspected and treated."

Figures Suggest Paramedics Made to Wait 42,000 Hours - Zen Law Comments

Manchester, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/01/2015 -- Recent figures obtained by Sky News show that in the last four weeks, paramedics were forced to queue outside A and E departments for more than a combined total of 42,000 hours.

These shocking statistics not only suggest that people may not always be getting the treatment they need, but many people are indeed sustaining accidents and injuries which require ambulance attention. This has caused much comment, especially from those leading support and advice provisions for people involved, including Zen Law.

The surge of admissions during the winter and early spring is in itself exacerbated by the weather and cuts to the medical service. Much of the means cannot be anticipated either, due to a key factor of uncertainty regarding road and workplace management. Up to 13% of these admissions logged by Sky News were due to trips and falls, many which could have been prevented – and not due to the victim.

In many circumstances, pressure on the medical service is compounded due to unexpected accidents often cased through negligence. For example, a number of falls are sustained in the workplace due to weather conditions being inappropriately addressed – such as wet floors. Accidents within this accumulated in what some term the 'winter crisis' where the 10 ambulance services in England were forced to spend £5 million hiring charities and private firms to make their workforce adequate.

Zen Law, leading injury lawyer specialists and frequent commentators in regards to personal injury and the healthcare system have been quick to comment.

"These recent figures are obviously disappointing" A spokesperson told us "As they reveal not only a rise in injuries and accidents but also a rise in circumstances of delay in which medical negligence can also be a problem.

"What is essential, especially passing out of winter and into spring, that if you consider yourself to have had an injury that was not your fault – whether on the roads or at work – or have faced what you believe to be a circumstance of medical negligence – you are entitled to support and the possibility of a claim. As experts in the area, a key injury lawyers in Manchester, we know of the diversity of injuries that can occur and believe it is essential that people feel a in a position to obtain the support they need."
