Sensaphone Offers Ethernet-to-WiFi Adapter for Long-Range Monitoring

Aston, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/12/2016 -- Customers who depend on Sensaphone systems for remote temperature sensing and other remote environmental monitoring purposes have long used Ethernet connections for data communication. However, Sensaphone now offers an Ethernet-to-WiFi adapter that makes long-range, wireless Ethernet connections easier than ever and eliminates the need for wired connections.

While Sensaphone products with Ethernet connections provide accurate information and real-time datalogging about the conditions in which sensors are placed, the available Ethernet connection, in many cases, is not in the same location as the Sensaphone itself. This distance has, in the past, required Sensaphone customers to run wires from the Ethernet location to a remote location (in some cases up to 2000 feet), resulting in expensive installation fees and an unattractive installation.

With the Ethernet-to-WiFi adapter, an 802.11 wireless bridge and access point operating on 2.4 GHZ, users no longer have to worry about the cost and logistics of long-range wire installation when using a Sensaphone in remote or outdoor applications. As long as users have WiFi available at the installation site, they can plug the adapter (which comes with a power-over-Ethernet kit, including POE injector) into the Sensaphone's Ethernet connection; then, the device will communicate with the network via WiFi. This way, Sensaphone customers have greater flexibility when it comes to installing their system.

The WiFi adapter is outdoor-rated and weatherproof, making it suitable for rugged outdoor applications. It can be used with Sensaphone systems such as Sentinel, WEB600, IMS-1000, IMS-4000 and WSG30, which monitor conditions such as temperature, humidity, water flow and more, and log data in real time. The adapter requires external power, included upon purchase, and comes with a mast mount kit and binding strap.

Sensaphone Introduces Three New Sensors to Monitor Water Quality

Aston, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/15/2016 -- Sensaphone, a nationwide manufacturer of remote monitoring solutions, recently introduced three new environmental monitoring sensors to their product line. These sensors are designed specifically to measure oxidation-reduction potential, toroidal conductivity and pH in applications where monitoring water quality is crucial, such as water treatment and wastewater facilities. Each sensor is compatible with most monitoring systems from Sensaphone and alerts facility operators when the conditions being measured fall outside of a set range so that corrective action can be taken.

The three new sensors measure for oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), toroidal conductivity and pH. ORP sensors detects water contamination levels by measuring the ability of a solution to act as an oxidizing or reducing agent. A low ORP level indicates that microbes and carbon-based contaminants are consuming oxygen in the water, whereas a higher ORP level indicates a presence of fewer contaminants. The sensor has a measuring range of 0 to 1000mV or -500 to +500mV.

Sensaphone's toroidal conductivity sensor functions similarly to the ORP sensor in that it measures water purity, in this case by measuring ion counts. It is especially suitable for chemically aggressive solutions where conventional sensors may become corroded.

Finally, Sensaphone's pH sensor helps to maintain water quality and equipment integrity by monitoring pH from 0 to 14. These sensors are resistant to the corrosive effects that extremes of either pH can have.

Each of these sensors is suitable for any environment in which water quality is paramount to safe and successful operations. While the new sensors are designed with water treatment and wastewater's particular needs in mind, they can be used in multiple other environments including HVAC systems, aquaculture farms, healthcare facilities, laboratories, and food and beverage production. Detailed information about the sensors can be found here.

Sensaphone Introduces SentinelPRO Cloud-Based Monitoring System with Cellular Modem

Aston, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/25/2016 -- Sensaphone, makers of remote monitoring systems for multiple industries that require observation of climate-sensitive systems and assets, recently announced an addition to their Sentinel system line. The SentinelPRO monitoring system made its debut at AHR Expo earlier this year.

Sentinel is a cloud-based monitoring system suitable for the 24/7 remote monitoring of unattended equipment (and its surrounding conditions) in water, wastewater, and HVAC management applications. The system interacts with a facility's existing sensors for real-time data acquisition and on-demand access to critical information. Sentinel supports Modbus RTU/48 and Modbus TCP communications protocol, and all sensor readings are saved in the cloud to protect data loss and provide unlimited information storage. Multiple devices can be managed from one account via a user-friendly, web-based interface.

The SentinelPRO expands on the capabilities of the original Sentinel system by adding the ability to monitor Modbus sensors and systems. There are cellular versions of both the Sentinel and Sentinel Pro, which allows for 24/7 monitoring in remote locations where Internet or Ethernet connectivity is not available. SentinelPRO also adds a second relay output for monitoring and controlling multiple units in complex networks, and includes a battery backup, power failure monitoring, and is available in a weatherproof enclosure.

SentinelPRO can be used for datalogging, on-demand status checks, and emergency notification in water management and HVAC environments. The system monitors conditions in pump stations, wells, and tank farms, and can provide real-time reporting on conditions like flow rates, tank levels, pump status, and power supply. It is capable of monitoring a temperature range from -109 to 168 degrees Fahrenheit. The system also monitors temperature, pressure, pH, conductivity, humidity, water leakage, and water purity in HVAC equipment like boilers, freezers, chillers, and refrigerators. Information logged by SentinelPRO is uploaded and stored in real time to the cloud, which is even possible without the presence of an Internet connection. When the SentinelPRO system detects an issue that demands emergency attention, it sends alerts by phone, text, or email to an unlimited number of emergency contacts, allowing them the opportunity to take corrective action.

Aston, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/03/2016 -- Sensaphone, a nationwide manufacturer of environmental monitoring sensors that are used in a diverse range of industries, recently released a new Pressure Sensor designed to monitor water pressure levels in remote environments. The Sensaphone Pressure Sensor is suitable for detecting problems with irrigation systems as well as with commercial hot water systems, making it a valuable monitoring solution for commercial growers, greenhouse operators, and managers of large facilities such as hotels, schools, and hospitals.

The Sensaphone Pressure Sensor monitors water pressure via a sensor that communicates real-time pressure data to the Sensaphone system. The system logs data and alarms users in the case of a water pressure emergency. This early-warning system allows users to address water pressure issues head-on, and avoid the consequences of pressure failure such as asset loss and facility damage. The sensor functions with a pressure range from 0 to 200 psi, cable length range of 6.6 feet, and temperature range from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 194 degrees Fahrenheit.

The remote monitoring system alerts users of issues specific to each application. In the case of irrigation, the system monitors for breaks, obstructions, malfunctioning pipes, faulty valves, and clogged filters.
Sensaphone Now Offering the Sentinel System with a Weatherproof NEMA 4X Enclosure for Unclean Applications

Aston, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/10/2015 -- All electronic devices, such as televisions or radios, require a dry and clean atmosphere to operate properly and have a long-lasting lifespan. Remote monitoring systems, however, are expected to function in tougher conditions. Despite their durability, some models such as the Sensaphone Sentinel, have design limitations that prevent them from working in unclean environments. To provide dependable remote environmental monitoring in various unclean agricultural applications, Sensaphone has made the Sentinel now available prepackaged in a NEMA 4X weatherproof enclosure.

It is recommended that the Sentinel be purchased in a weatherproof enclosure if placed in a dirty, humid agricultural environment, such as chicken coops, hog barns or greenhouses. The enclosure will prevent the Sentinel from being covered in dirt and corroding due to a watertight seal. The Sentinel's phone line and sensor input wires are run through the enclosure so that exposure to harsh natural elements can be avoided. The model was traditionally retailed only with a metal enclosure, but after the device was requested to monitor unclean applications, it was released with a prepackaged enclosure option as well.

The Sentinel is a wireless temperature monitoring system that offers cloud-based data logging and 24/7 observation of unattended areas through the collecting, reporting and alarming of data. Its sensors virtually monitor critical conditions such as humidity, temperature, pH, pressure, water leakage and conductivity. Users receive alerts from the monitoring system via text, phone or email.

For more details on the Sentinel system available in the weatherproof NEMA 4X enclosure, call 888-369-4781 or visit Sensaphone's website.

Sensaphone Announces Upgrade to the FGD-1800 Monitoring System

Aston, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/03/2015 -- To ensure a successful harvest, farmers need to monitor nature's conditions to prevent any issues from occurring to their cultivation processes. The development of advanced technology over the years has led to the production of instrument devices that assist farmers with monitoring their agricultural products more closely. Greenhouses and agricultural industries across the nation have relied on the FGD-1800 Monitoring System from Sensaphone, the Remote Monitoring Solutions Company, to observe their facilities where dust or moisture can cause a problem. But soon, companies will be able to upgrade to a new version of the system, which will be available in mid-December.

Sensaphone will re-release the FGD-1800 Monitoring system with a revised keypad display and professionally recorded voice. The system allows users to record alarm messages and custom alerts in their own voice, but will no longer operate with the voice of the company's Vice President of Engineering. The environmental monitoring equipment device is highly beneficial for greenhouse and agricultural applications because it is simple to use, offers convenience and is cost-effective. The system is encased in a rugged, waterproof enclosure that allows it to operate even in the harshest conditions.

Just like its previous version, the upgraded monitoring system provides the status of each condition being observed remotely by telephone or at the installation site of the unit. Up to eight people can be notified in the event of an alarm by the system's voice phone call. If the power fails, the system will still continue to log for twelve hours without losing the settings, due to its nonvolatile memory and rechargeable battery. The wireless monitoring system detects temperature, humidity, water and other conditions with eight external sensors.

Sensaphone Announces Release of New Advanced Wireless Monitoring Device

Aston, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/06/2015 -- A leading company that designs innovative remote monitoring solutions, Sensaphone is proud to announce the release of a new wireless device that allows for Wi-Fi communication. Advancing on their cloud-based solutions, the new wireless device is a Wi-Fi adapter that will plug into the Ethernet port on any of their network-based remote monitoring systems. The solution creates Wi-Fi compatibility within the Sensaphone system so that any monitored data can be sent wirelessly to the network.

Once the Sensaphone is connected to the adapter, the user programs the device to connect to a wireless router with the included software. This allows the user to place their Sensaphone in locations where there is no internet connection, as long as a Wi-Fi connection is available. The adapter is suitable for use in both residential and industrial applications.

The adapter will not affect the products functionality, but will simply provide a bridge to a wireless network. With the adapter wirelessly sending information to the network, users receive immediate notification of problems associated with humidity, power failure, temperature and more.

The company is also releasing a new temperature sensor. The sensor sends the signal to 4-20mA transmitter, which forwards to a client's Sensaphone device and monitors temperatures as low as -200 degrees Celsius and as high as 204 degrees Celsius. Two options will be available; one is calibrated to operate over the range -200° to 35°C, the other can be customized at time of order to operate over any range between -200° and 204°C. Utilize the solution for ultra-low temperature monitoring in cryogenic applications in the industrial and medical fields.
