Health Experts Comment on the Benefits of E-Cigarettes, iBreathe Comments

Oldham, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/28/2015 -- UK e-cigarette suppliers, iBreathe, have recently commented on the report which has health experts detailing the benefits of e-cigarettes in light of recent criticism.

Health experts from Abu Dhabi have recently defended the e-cigarette, considering ultimately a healthier alternative to smoking tobacco, and dismissing that the devices attract teenagers to take up smoking.

Figures determined by the researcher from Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre in Athens, Konstantinos Farsalinos, reveal that out of 19,500 people studied, 81% have quit smoking thanks to the use of e-cigarettes.

Farsalinos said, 'In fact, they quit smoking very easily within the first month of the e-cigarette use on average. That's something you don't see with any other method of smoking cessation. If three percent of smokers witch to e-cigarettes we are going to save about two million lives in the next 20 years.'

Professor of Geneva University, Jean-Francois Etter, also believes that e-cigarettes should be freely available and said, 'E-cigarettes and nicotine and tobacco vaporisers should not be excessively regulated.

This could decrease the numbers of smokers who switch to these new products, benefiting 'only the big tobacco industry' whose leaders 'will be able to survive in a tightly regulated environment.'

Etter believes the World Health Organisation (WHO) stance on regulation political, and said, 'I think that the WHO people should know better than kill alternatives to smoking cigarettes.

Family doctor and director of the University of Alabama Center for the Study of Tobacco and Society has also chipped in on the debate, revealing that he would generally recommend e-cigarettes to patients trying to quit, as they proved more effective than pharmaceutical products which come with bad side effects for many.

The support for the e-cigarettes come in light of WHO wanted to heavily regulate the device, and health experts argue that the devices prevent the combustion of tobacco which releases toxins, making for a healthier and more workable alternative.

Often commenting on industry news, a spokesperson for iBreathe said, 'The fact of the matter is that e-cigarettes are healthier than tobacco cigarettes, and that many can quit thanks to the use of the vaping substance. '

Adding Up: 4,000 Chemicals Versus Four in E-Cig; iBreathe Reflects

Oldham, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/23/2015 -- In a recent interview with vaping advocate Michael Nance, interesting statistics came to light – including his claim that vaping is "at least 94 or 96 percent safer than smoking – with the 4,000 chemicals in tobacco cigarettes versus the 4 in conventional e-cigarettes."

Typically, e-cigs operate on a basis of liquid nicotine steamed over water vapour, and this does appear much more of a simplistic prospect compared with the mass of chemicals in other cigarettes.

However, is simpler always best? In the case of smoking, this could inevitably appear the case – as not only do e-cigarettes avoid the sheer chemical count, but also avoid other issues such as second-hand smoking.

The lack of fumes emitted reduce risk to those surrounding. Furthermore, e-cigarettes often work out much more cost-effective and are available in kits for longer-term use, whilst a tobacco cigarette is expensive and disposable.

iBreathe, who are leading online retailers of premium e-cigarettes and e-liquids as well as frequent commentators in the industry, were quick to reflect on the issue: "We think the publication of figures like these really draw the right kind of positive attention e-cigarettes need," a spokesperson for the company suggested.

"E-cigarettes, when used as an alternative to tobacco smoking, are not only less harmful to the individual, but also have minimalimplications to the people around them. At the same time, the e-cigarette is still satisfying the craving for nicotine and also the routine of smoking, such as the need to hold something – a place where other preventative methods, such as gum and patches, do not suffice as well.

"In this light, e-cigarettes could be seen as a more positive alternative to smoking and really can be a constructive way to end the smoking of tobacco cigarettes."
