The event benefited The United Way of Martin County's White Doves Holiday Project who are the official local coordinating organization for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation. The couple mailed flyers to all 556 homes in the neighborhood to invite neighbors to come and be a part of the charity drive.

At the event, there was free pizza and refreshments, music and an outdoor movie theatre, together with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and a professional photographer to capture the event. Officer Brian Bossio from The Stuart Police Department was an honored guest at the event. The hosts asked guests to bring a new unwrapped toy for the drive, which helps bring Christmas joy to children in need.

The event was a huge success, with a big turn out and an overflowing box of toys for the children. All of the toys donated at the "Santa in The Pines" event were then dropped off at Martin County Fire Rescue - Station 16 in Jensen Beach, Florida.
