Worcester Wreath Reports on the 2016 Wreaths Across America Program

The program decorated the graves of 901,000 service members in 2015 and hopes to do more in the future, announces WorcesterWreath.com

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/06/2016 -- The Worcester Wreath Company and Wreaths Across America announces, on December 12, 2015, 901.000 Christmas wreaths were placed on graves across American to remember those who lived and served. The wreaths help to keep their memory alive and provide individuals with a moment to pause and remember them and their service. This is a time when individuals come together without denominational divide or political agenda to lift up the men and women who have protected America's freedom. The Christmas Wreaths add beauty to the cemeteries they grace and provide a reminder to all that Americans have a great deal to be thankful for during the holiday season.

"The Wreaths Across America event is designed to accomplish the organization's mission which is Remember, Honor, Teach. The wreaths are now placed in Arlington National Cemetery along with veterans' cemeteries in all 50 states and beyond. In addition, the organization plans a week of events, including ceremonies at State Houses and a Veteran's Parade that takes a week and goes from Maine to Virginia. This parade allows the organization to spread the message about remembering heroes that have given their lives while serving this country, honoring those who continue to serve and teaching children about sacrifices made by these individuals,"Mike Worcester, spokesperson for Worcester Wreath Company, announces.

Thousands of volunteers contribute to this effort, organizing local ceremonies, raising funds to purchase the wreaths and participating in the various events. Individual wreath sponsors, corporate donors and volunteer professional truck drivers help to offset the costs associated with the program, and all make the honoring of the armed forces possible in this way. Worcester Wreath Company is proud of how far the program has come over the years and hopes to expand it more as time goes by.

"Corporate donors for 2015 include Chevrolet, Wal-Mart, Worcester Wreath, Jersey Mike's Sub, Baylor Trucking, Network Appliance, Aerospace Industries Association and Whitten's a-Way-Brewer. The trucking companies helping transport the wreaths are too numerous to list, yet we appreciate every one of them and all they do to support the program. It's companies such as this that make our work possible," Worcester continues.

In addition to the wreaths, the program dedicates a perpetually lit Christmas tree to honor all service members, past, present and future, who are away from loved ones during the holidays. The theme of the tree is 'The Christmas they never had' and was inspired by Sir Stanley Wojtusik. Sir Wojtusik was a World War II prisoner of war who survived the Battle of the Bulge. The holidays are a time for families to be together, yet those in the armed forces often spend this time away. The tree is designed to recognize their sacrifice.

"Visit the Wreaths Across America Facebook page to see pictures of cemeteries across the country decorated with the wreaths, along with the perpetually lit Christmas tree. In addition, mark December 17, 2016 on the calendar, as that is the date for the next wreath laying event. Every soldier should be honored for their sacrifice, and this program is our way of doing so. We appreciate all who participate in the event, from the companies transporting the wreaths to the individuals who place the wreaths. We couldn't do it without this help," Worcester states.

WorcesterWreath.com Reports They Wish to Honor Those Who Served This Country

The Wreaths Across America program now marks the graves of approximately 700,000 veterans in 900 cemeteries, announces Worcester Wreath

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/03/2015 -- Wreaths Across America, a program that originated in 1992, continues to honor those who have died while serving the country. The program now marks the graves of approximately 700,000 veterans in 900 cemeteries throughout the country with christmas wreaths. Many are familiar with this program, as it provides 230,000 wreaths for Arlington National Cemetery, yet it also remembers numerous other veterans and requires funding for each wreath.

"Veterans deserve respect, especially those who gave their lives for this country, and individuals can show their respect by purchasing a wreath for this purpose. Christmas Wreaths help to make the cemetery festive and greet those who come to visit their loved one during the holidays. Each wreath shows that others remember and appreciate the men and women who sacrificed a great deal to protect the citizens of America," Mike Worcester, spokesperson for WorcesterWreath.com, states.

When the program first started, Morrill Worcester chose to place wreaths on the graves of those who received fewer visitors each passing year. This was in an older section of Arlington National Cemetery and fewer family members remained to visit the graves. Individuals and organizations learned of his plans and stepped up to help with transporting the wreaths from Maine to Virginia, decorating each wreath with a red hand-tied bow and placing them on the graves.

"It wasn't until 2005 that this program gained national attention. People began to request a wreath for their loved one's grave, yet the company couldn't keep up with these requests, as they numbered in the thousands. In addition, cemeteries wanted to take part and people wanted to donate to the program. To expand the program, Worcester Wreath began sending seven wreaths to each state, one for every service branch and one for those held as prisoners of war or missing in action," Worcester continues.

In 2007, the program became known as Wreaths Across America and today is able to grace hundreds of thousands of graves, thanks to the generous donations of individuals across America. This non-profit 501-c3 organization accepts donations to place these wreaths every year. The money is used to expand the program and to support those taking part.

"Individuals need to remember those who gave of themselves in defense of this country. As Morrill Worcester stated, this is only a small gesture and he wished he could do more. With the expansion of this program, we'll be able to honor these men and women for years to come," Worcester declares.

About Worcester Wreath
Worcester Wreath remains committed to protecting the environment and its many resources. When creating balsam products for sale, the company only makes use of the tips of the branches and these tips regenerate every three years.
WorcesterWreath.com Showcases Fundraising Opportunities

Schools or other groups interested in raising money around the holidays can find information on how to start using a Holiday Balsam fundraising program by visiting WorcesterWreath.com.

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/03/2015 -- Schools and other non-profit groups raise over 1.7 billion dollars each year. Nearly 80% of Americans support the fundraisers which means experts consider fundraisers to be a fantastic way to gain the additional money that's needed for running a school, field trips, camping trips for scouts, community programs and other activities for groups that might not otherwise be able to afford it.

With the holiday season approaching, christmas wreaths are going to be in demand. Many people enjoy handing gorgeous wreaths on their doors, mailboxes, and even their cars to show their holiday spirit. This makes them an option to consider for any group looking for a fundraising opportunity.

WorcesterWreath.com offers a fundraising program any group, organization, school or team can use to raise money. It doesn't matter if they're trying to earn money for a field trip, school supplies, a charity, or another reason, and the website makes it easy for them to reach their goals.

Mike Worcester, the spokesperson for WorcesterWreath.com, stated, "We are proud to showcase our unique fundraising opportunity for any groups. We offer three different options for the fundraisers and all of the products use fresh Maine balsam so the wreaths practically sell themselves."

The three options include a simple online order form that helps those purchasing wreaths save 10%, traditional order forms to collect orders and money from customers with a later delivery, and an order that allows for a bulk preorder of wreaths that can then be resold.

WorcesterWreath.com is most well-known for their part in creating Wreaths Across America, so many people will recognize their name. The founder of the website started placing wreaths on the gravestones of veterans in Arlington National Cemetary in 1992. The organization was created as this tradition began to spread to become an annual event across the United States.

For those who worry about the sustainability of the trees used to make Christmas Wreaths, the WorcesterWreath.com company promises that no Balsam trees are cut down to make their products. In fact, only the tips are cut off and the trees regenerate every three years. The company manages their own farms to ensure the care and quality of the trees they obtain the materials for the wreaths from. They never cut more than half of the trees in a single year.

"From the products created for veterans to the wreaths we sell and use for fundraisers, care is taken with every piece," stated Worcester. "We only use fresh Maine balsam to ensure the color and scent are amazing and know our quality cannot be beaten."

About WorcesterWreath.com
WorcesterWreath.com sells wreaths, tabletop trees, centerpieces, and more from their website. The company began the non-profit Wreaths Across America in 2007 and have been donating wreaths to be placed on veteran gravesites since 1992. They also offer fundraising options as well as bulk discounts for customers who want to place larger orders. All of their products include at least 90% fresh Maine balsam collected daily from their farm.
WorcesterWreath.com Launches New Program Fostering Community Fundraising Efforts

Balsam wreath sales are opportune methods for organizations to raise money for their causes, publishes worcesterwreath.com.

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/30/2015 -- As the holiday season draws nigh, gift and decor sales are once again projected to skyrocket. This is also the time of year when countless schools, sports teams, community programs and organizations begin their annual sales of sweets, treats and other novelty items in an effort to boost finances for various causes. Helping foster both endeavors as well as time-tested tradition, Mike Worcester of WorcesterWreath.com has recently launched the company's Holiday Balsam fundraising program.

Said Worcester, "Our new fundraising program is a wonderful way for organizations to earn money. Christmas Wreaths are among the most popular forms of decor for the holidays, now rivaling trees and lights. They also make fantastic gifts, so they are certain to sell more easily than some of the other options available. Since all our products are made from Balsam tips freshly harvested each day, they offer the color and scent indicative of the season. The locally grown Balsam we use in our wreaths is of the highest quality available and guaranteed fresh. "

Though viewed by many as simple ornamentation recognizing holidays, the wreath essentially holds many deeper meanings. As a full circle, it represents infinity as well as constant renewal. In today's society, christmas wreaths hung on doors are additionally symbolic of welcoming loved ones into the home. Evergreens, for centuries, have promoted eternal life.

Additions to the basic greenery also often hold weight. While ribbons provide a festive touch, many have begun implementing them in colors adopted by various awareness groups to further the significance of the wreaths being displayed. Holly leaves and berries, also much loved elements in Christmas decor, reinforce the notion of eternity; at the same time, cedar sprigs suggest strength.

WorcesterWreath.com initially made headlines in association with the Wreaths Across America program. Inspired by a boyhood visit to Arlington National Cemetery, company founder Morrill Worcester began donating wreaths to honor veterans in 1992. Although this effort continued for more than a decade without recognition, it ultimately sparked a fire now spanning the nation and involving an array of companies.

Concluded Worcester, "We offer three options with our fundraising program: traditional flyers and tally sheets, printed sales materials with online ordering and pre-ordered products to sell at will. All choices are designed to be as simple as possible for our participants and their customers. Anyone interested in furthering their fundraising efforts through us may visit our website for more information and contact us with any questions regarding the process. We're proud to introduce this opportunity to those organizations in need of unique ideas to help them succeed."

Worcester Wreaths Makes Ready for Christmas Season and 2015 Wreaths Across America

Company shifts into high gear as demanding season approaches, lines up to assist with another important Wreaths Across America event to honor veterans, Worcester Wreaths reports

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/02/2015 -- Worcester Wreaths, one of the country's top producers of natural balsam Christmas Wreaths and other balsam products, announced that the company has begun gearing up for the busy holiday season and the 2015 Wreaths Across America event. Having grown greatly from its 1992 origins when Worcester Wreaths placed balsam wreaths at graves at an older, neglected part of Arlington National Cemetery, the annual Wreaths Across America event now includes similar efforts at locations all around the country. Those interested in donating to the 2015 installment of the charitable event can do so now at the Wreaths Across America website.

"With fall just around the corner, our work here is now stepping into overdrive," Worcester Wreaths founder and owner Mike Worcester said, "That means ensuring that our privately managed, 4,000-acre balsam fir forest is in prime shape for the upcoming Christmas season. It also means working with the wonderful people at Wreaths Across America to make sure that their important work will go off without a hitch this Christmas."

Since its opening at the end of the Civil War, Arlington National Cemetery has served as a final resting place for hundreds of thousands of American veterans who were killed in combat. Visiting on a trip he won as a twelve-year-old paper boy from Maine, Worcester Wreaths founder Mike Worcester was awed at the sight of the cemetery, one that impressed upon him deeply the magnitude of the sacrifices so many veterans had made to keep America safe and free.

In 1992, Worcester found himself in a position to honor those sacrifices in a special way, enlisting the help of Maine's Senator Olympia Snowe to lay balsam Worcester Wreaths in part of Arlington National Cemetery where the age of the graves meant that they received few visitors. Over the years, that initial effort grew far past the boundaries of Arlington National, with the 2007 incorporation of the Wreaths Across America organization creating an independent entity that now works with sponsors, donors, and volunteers to put down wreaths in all 50 states and elsewhere in the world.

In addition to laying the foundations for this important annual event, Worcester Wreaths is also one of the world's leading producers of fully sustainable, natural balsam christmas wreaths and other balsam products. The only balsam wreath producer in the country to drawn solely from its own, private balsam fir forest, the company harvests the tips of tree branches to produce a wide range of beautiful seasonal gifts and decorations. This approach ensures that the firs remain healthy and regenerate fully after three years.

With fall almost here, Worcester Wreaths has stepped up its efforts, preparing for the always-intense Christmas season to come. Those interested in what the company has to offer can learn more about its products and place orders at the Worcester Wreaths website. Donations to Wreaths Across America can be made at WreathsAcrossAmerica.org, where more information about the history and work of the non-profit can also be found.

The Worcester Wreath Co. Announces Details of Rewarding New Fund-Raising Program

Flexible new program includes three options that cover all of the common needs and give fund-raisers access to leading wreath company's popular range of products, Worcester Wreath Co. reports

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/02/2015 -- The Worcester Wreath Co., the country's top source for handcrafted, natural balsam Christmas wreaths and more, announced details of the company's convenient new fund raising program. Making it easy for schools, non-profits and other organizations all around the country to leverage the strong demand for the Worcester Wreath Co.'s sought-after christmas wreaths and other products, the flexible new fund-raising program is a truly special and attractive opportunity. For more than forty years, the Worcester Wreath Co. has been a leading provider of beautiful, environmentally friendly balsam wreaths and related products and was the founding force behind the now-nationwide Wreaths Across America charitable organization.

"With Christmas only months away, we're gearing up for the busy season," Worcester Wreath Co. Vice President Mike Worcester said, "Even as we do so, we are excited to announce our new fund-raising program. With three distinct options that will together account for virtually every need, we think this program is going to be a great way for worthy groups all across the United States to raise much-needed funds."

Working by hand to craft Christmas wreaths from the responsibly harvested branch tips of the balsam trees that are so numerous in Maine, Worcester Wreath Co. founder Morrill Worcester built the company up from humble beginnings in 1971. Sales that totaled 500 in that first year have grown consistently ever since, with the company now shipping over half a million wreaths annually.

In the early 1990s, the Worcester Wreath Co., seeking a productive use for some excess inventory, arranged to have many of the company's balsam Christmas Wreaths shipped to Arlington National Cemetery. Thanks to the efforts of volunteers who helped with both transportation and the work of placing the wreaths, several older sections of the cemetery that had been receiving fewer visitors were provided with wreaths.

By 2005, the program had grown to the point that it attracted attention nationwide, resulting in the founding two years later of Wreaths Across America as a separate non profit 501-c3 organization. Today, that group helps organize tributes to fallen American heroes all across the country, with December 12 standing as National Wreaths Across America Day.

In announcing the company's special new fund-raising program, the Worcester Wreath Co. continues this longstanding tradition of working to make the United States an even better, more generous place to live. The new program includes three distinct options that are designed to account for the varying needs of participating organizations. Further details about the program are available at the Worcester Wreath Co. website, where interested parties can also learn more about the company's products, history, and policies.

WorcesterWreath.com Announces New Fundraising Programs Are Now Available

The company now offers three options for organizations looking to raise funds, reports Worcester Wreath

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/03/2015 -- Worcester Wreath announces they are now offering new fundraising programs for organizations looking to generate extra cash by selling christmas wreaths and decorations. The company provides three options, allowing each organization to choose the one which best meets their needs. Organizations looking to obtain more information about fundraising with Christmas Wreaths appreciate having options, as they know best which type of fundraising and which level of involvement is best for their group.

"Worcester Wreath is best known for the Wreaths Across America program, a non profit 501c3 organization, that places wreaths on every grave in Arlington National Cemetery. This movement has grown significantly over the years and is designed to fulfill the group's mission. Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach children the value of freedom. Numerous groups have joined in the movement, and many organizations are now following in the footsteps of the group and placing wreaths on local cemeteries to honor those who have served," Mike Worcester, spokesperson for the company, announces.

The fundraising programs provide an opportunity for organizations to generate extra funds, as the balsam products make outstanding gifts and wonderful holiday decorations. Individuals love the scent and color of the products, and all balsam tips are harvested daily to ensure they are fresh. The quality of the items cannot be beat.

Organizations select from three fundraising programs. The first option involves signing up for fundraising and obtaining flyers to deliver to potential buyers, at which time the buyers visit the website to select the desired items and enter the organization's unique promotion ID. The organization then receives 25 percent of the sale price, minus shipping and handling, Worcester explains.

Those wishing to select their own profit margin sign up and take orders for various products. When the tally sheets have been completed, the order is placed and Worcester Wreath delivers the items to the organization's contact person. The organization then handles delivery of the products.

The third option involves purchasing items to sell as desired. No forms are required when one selects this fundraising method. In addition, the company works to ensure the organization obtains the best possible price to maximize the return on investment.

"Consider all fundraising options to ensure the proper one is selected. Each organization knows best what they can take on and the amount of money they wish to generate. Worcester Wreaths understands this and provides options to help the organizations reach their goals," Worcester declares.

New Campaign Reminds All That Veterans Deserve Recognition Year-Round

Wreaths Across America founder, The Worcester Wreath Company, is encouraging everyone to get involved with organizations that thank, reward and remember all veterans.

Harrington, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/05/2015 -- In a state nicknamed The Pine Tree State, it is probably not surprising that some of the most fragrant and beautiful wreaths in the world are assembled and sold within their borders. Worcester Wreath Company, a popular manufacturer of Christmas Wreaths, has established this campaign, not to advertise themselves, but to remind everyone of the mission of their charitable event, Wreaths Across America. This event is held to honor all veterans and to help everyone remain aware of the sacrifices these men and women have made.

Company spokesman, Mike Worcester, describes the vision held by company founder, Morrill Worcester. "A childhood trip to Arlington National Cemetery made an enormous impact on the heart of Morrill Worcester. It was something he never forgot. In 1992, the company experienced a surplus of wreaths. Since these products cannot be stored for the next season, something needed to be done with them immediately."

It was then that Worcester recalled the cemetery at Arlington and decided to give back in the only way he knew how. After contacting and receiving assistance from Maine Senator Olympia Snowe, the company was able to ship the wreaths to Arlington and have them displayed on the tombstones in an older section of the cemetery that was rarely visited. This contribution was done to remember those that seemed to have been forgotten.

"That Christmas season was the beginning of an annual tradition that has continued to expand and take root across the United States." Mike Worcester explained. "Today, wreaths are placed on all of the graves in Arlington, ceremonies are held at every state house in the Union and tens of thousands of people volunteer to take part in parades and in transporting the wreaths. Nearly 600 cemeteries receive wreaths and the annual trip to take them from their starting point in Harrington, Maine to Arlington has become part veteran's parade, part educational experience, with frequent stops made at state houses and schools along the way."

The Worcester Wreath Company wants to continue to make everyone aware, especially children, of the importance of remembering and honoring the service men and women who have made it possible for all to have the abundance and freedom they enjoy. They encourage everyone to volunteer and get involved within their own community. They like to use their own example of how just one person with a simple idea can lead to amazing achievements.
