The win came immediately after a November 7 win against the Thunder which featured a 1-0 shutout bu the Mavericks thanks to goalie Parker Milner.<br />

Milner was able to lead the Missouri Mavericks to victory in both games this week, allowing one goal scored by the Wichita Thunder in the combined 120 minutes of regulation play. The Mavericks lead the November 8 game with two points before the Thunder were able to score against Milner in the second period.<br />

The November 8 victory gave the Mavericks a total of 8 points in the 2015-16 ECHL season. The Mavericks continue to lead the Independence Cup Series with the most points collected so far against the Thunder.<br />

The game featured Mavericks goal tender Parker Milner who won his fourth start of the season with the shutout, allowing no goals scored by the Thunder.<br />

The lone goal of the night was scored by Missouri Mavericks player Matt Finn who recently joined the roster and was playing in his first game with the team. Finn was assigned to the Mavericks from the NHL team the New York Islanders and had previously played with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL as well.<br />

The November 4 game was held in Moline, IL the home ice of the Quad City Mallards. The Mavericks away win came after two back to back away game losses at the end of the first month of the 2015-16 ECHL season.<br />
<br />
Jesse Root, leading goal scorer for the Mavericks, scored two goals in the game including the game winning overtime goal. Goalie Josh Robinson managed to save 27 shots on goal while defending the Mavericks net during 60 minutes of regulation play and 37 seconds of overtime hockey. Robinson had been announced as the ECHL "Goaltender of the Month" earlier the same day.<br />
<br />
The Mallards scored the first point of the November 4 game but did not hold onto their lead for long throughout the remainder of regulation play. The third period of the game saw a Mavericks lead taken away by Mallards players Jake Baker who managed to score against Robinson to tie up the game 3-3 and take the teams into overtime. The Mavericks kept Robinson in the net for overtime and won with a goal scored against the Mallards less than one minute into post-regulation play.<br />

The Wednesday announcement came after the official ECHL announcement of Robinsons&apos; selection as Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for October, the opening month of the 2015-16 season.<br />

October 21st Robinson was originally awarded the title of "Goaltender of the Week" by the ECHL after his performance during opening week in the 2015-16 season. The awards have been given to Robinson after his stand out performances so far in the 2015-16 ECHL season with the Mavericks.<br />

Robinson has accomplished two shutouts so far this season with the Missouri Mavericks including the October 23 game against local rivals the Wichita Thunder. The 25 year old North American native had an impressive 0.98 goals-against average in the first month of play this season, allowing him to lead the league in goals-against average.<br />

The Mavericks lost 2-1 on October 31st in an away game played against the Allen Americans. On October 30th the Mavericks lost in overtime to the Tulsa Oilers, the loss to the Allen Americans was their first regulation loss of the season since they began playing in Anchorage.<br />

The Allen Americans scored two goals against the Missouri Mavericks before the Mavericks could get any points on the board. The Mavericks answered the Americans with one goal late in the third period of the game and could not tie the game before the end of the final period. Tyler Barnes scored the only goal for the Mavericks during regulation with an empty net, assisted by Mavericks players Jesse Root and Rocco Carzo. Barnes currently leads the Mavericks in points scored.<br />

Parker Milner was the goalie for the Mavericks during the game and managed to save 26 of the 28 shots on goal by the Americans. The Americans goalie Joel Rumpel allowed no goals while he was on the ice.<br />

The loss came to the Mavericks in the shootout after a full 60 minutes of regulation play and five minutes of overtime.<br />

Trevor Ludwig will play for the Mavericks as their new captain, Andrew Courtney and Kane Lafranchise will play as alternative captains.<br />

Trevor Ludwig was recently added to the Missouri Mavericks in a trade from the Allen Americans ECHL team earlier this October. Ludwig was made captain for the first time in his professional career after playing well for the Mavericks against the Aces in exhibition games last week after his addition to the team.<br />
<br />
Andrew Courtney was awarded the alternative captain position for the second season in a row, having played the same position in the 2014-15 season. He is known for his status as a fan and crowd favorite and is welcomed back warmly by Head Coach Richard Matvichuk and the rest of the coaching staff.<br />
<br />
Kane Lafranchise, the second alternative captain announced by the Mavericks, was said to be a stand out leader by Head Coach Richard Matvichuk. He has experience playing as an alternative captain for the ECHL team the Alaska Aces and has skating experience playing for the American Hockey League teams the Utica Comets, Abbotsford Heat, and Oklahoma City Barons.<br />

The Missouri Mavericks will return home to play their first home game of the season at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on October 24th. The first home game of the 2015-16 Mavericks season will be played against the team&apos;s local rivals the Wichita Thunder.<br />

The ECHL to AHL transaction came after Milner played in the season opener for the Mavericks in Anchorage, AK against the Alaska Aces. Milner was on loan from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.<br />
<br />
The Milner transaction is the first player call-up for the Missouri Mavericks in the new 2015-16 season. The Pittsburgh, PA native recently turned 25 and has previously played for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the 2013-14 season. Milner has experience with other ECHL and AHL teams including the Stockton Thunder (ECHL), the Quad City Mallards (ECHL), and the Iowa Wild (AHL).<br />
<br />
Missouri Mavericks goalie Josh Robinson will replace Parker Milner as the only other goalie on the teams official roster. Robinson is one year older than Milner and has years of experience playing for the AHL and ECHL leagues. He played with the Mavericks last year in the 2014-15 season and has already had on-ice time this season.<br />

The season opening game was held after two exhibition games against the Aces, the Mavericks won the first game of that series and lost the second.<br />
<br />
The single goal scored by the Missouri Mavericks in the October 16th game was scored by player Jesse Root with assists from Tyler Barnes and new team captain Trevor Ludwig. The Mavericks scored a second goal which was reviewed and determined to not be a valid goal. Parker Milner, the Mavericks goalie for the night, allowed three goals from the Aces and the game ended 1-3 Aces win.<br />
<br />
Two more away games will be played by the Missouri Mavericks against the Alaska Aces while they continue their two week long road trip in Alaska. The Mavericks again face the Aces on Saturday October 17th at 10:15 PM and Sunday October 18th at 6:05 PM.<br />

The first home game of the 2015-16 season will be held against the Wichita Thunder on Saturday October 24th at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena, the newly named home ice of the Mavericks. <br />
