Center City Emergency Dentist Now Available for Non-Emergency Visits

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/10/2020 -- Center City Emergency Dentist is currently scheduling appointments for individuals interested in non-emergency and emergency dental services. Due to COVID-19, the office will be scheduling patients on an appointment-only basis for the foreseeable future, and all patients and staff members will be required to adhere to CDC guidance to reduce the risk of transmission.

The Center City Emergency Dentist team has taken all recommended precautions to ensure every patient is safe. The entire Center City Emergency Dentist staff is required to wear a mask while in the office, and steps have been taken to allow them to adhere to social distancing guidelines recommended by the CDC. The office is also now equipped with HEPA certified filters, which will reduce the risk of viral transmission via particulates in the air. In addition to this, all staff members will undergo temperature screenings when they enter the office, and the office itself has been rearranged to allow patients to adhere to social distancing recommendations.

Patients are now able to schedule routine cleanings and check-ups, with an updated protocol for such appointments. Unless the patient is a minor or requires special assistance, only the patient will interact with the office staff during their appointment. All individuals accompanying the patient must wait outside the office.

In addition to this precaution, all patients must arrive at their appointment 15 minutes before the scheduled time to undergo a temperature screening and wash their hands. All patients whose temperature meets the threshold of 100.4 F will have their appointment canceled and are advised to seek medical treatment, per CDC guidance. All patients and guardians are required to adhere to social distancing guidelines while in the office.

Center City Emergency Dentist Available for Emergency Dental Services in the Philadelphia Area Immediately

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/01/2020 -- Center City Emergency Dentist is available to provide emergency dental service to individuals in the Philadelphia area. Any trauma to the body can be disorienting, but it's especially important to understand the difference between a dental emergency and issues that can wait for help from a dentist that works regular business hours. The best indicator of a dental emergency is if there's pain involved with the dental trauma that's persistent or unbearable.

Pain in the tooth or mouth can occur for many different reasons. It could be a chipped tooth, a cracked tooth, or receiving another kind of trauma to the face, but it can also occur because of an underlying infection. When deciding whether the pain level merits a trip to an emergency dentist, consider whether the problem has been persistent and severe enough to cause significant discomfort.

In addition to pain, signs of a dental infection require quick treatment to prevent more serious harm from occurring in the body. For example, an abscess can form on a tooth and cause a severe condition that spreads to the jawbone, surrounding lymph nodes, and the rest of the body. Receiving treatment for issues like these will help mitigate the negative consequences on the rest of the body related to such infections.

Loose teeth, like infections, can also be an issue that requires emergency dental services to fix. When individuals reach adulthood, they should not be experiencing tooth loss, so it's vitally important for anyone whose teeth are loose to seek out attention from a dentist when they first notice the issue. If treated promptly, the issue causing loose teeth can be corrected to avoid future problems altogether.

Center City Emergency Dentist Urges Patients to Look out for Signs of Oral Infections

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/01/2020 -- With most dental practices in Philadelphia, including Center City Emergency Dentist, limiting their services due to the COVID pandemic, people must be vigilant about their oral care routine now more than ever. The highly sought after and experienced dental team at CCED is urging patients to improve their oral health and look out for red flags that could signal a serious infection and require emergency dental services.

Oral infections are caused by bacteria, and they can develop in and around any part of the oral cavity, including the teeth, gums, mouth and lips. The most common symptoms related to oral infections are:

- Sensitive teeth and gums
- Tooth, gum, and mouth pain
- Bleeding or sore gums
- Loose or falling teeth
- Bad breath
- Mouth sores
- Swelling of the gums, jaw, or lymph nodes

Thankfully, if caught early, most oral infections can easily be treated with regular care and home remedies. Most adults already have healthy oral habits ingrained in their lifestyle, but the CCED team agrees there's no better time than right now to give regular oral hygiene a boost. And it all starts by washing the hands.

Hands make contact with tons of bacteria and germs during daily activities that can make their way onto the toothbrush and into the mouth. Therefore, it's important to wash hands properly — that means with hot soap and water — before brushing and flossing the teeth. Additionally, ensure the toothbrush is clean before use.

Those who do develop painful oral infections can always turn to Center City Emergency Dentist, one of the leading emergency dental clinics. Their Philadelphia offices are currently accepting appointments where CDC guidelines are strictly being followed for the safety of all patients and staff.

Center City Emergency Dentist Discusses Toothaches, Their Causes, and How to Ease Symptoms

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/24/2020 -- Dental hygiene is a critical part of personal health as a whole, and no one recognizes that more than Center City Emergency Dentist. As a leading provider of emergency dental services, their team encounters a variety of oral health-related issues. Because of this, they have highlighted three of the leading causes of tooth pain and how patients can briefly relieve the symptoms until they can make it into the dentist's office.

One of the most common causes of dental-related pain is tooth decay. Tooth decay, often referred to as cavities, deteriorates the tooth itself. When this occurs, seeing a dentist is essential to getting said cavities filled to prevent further dental damage. Until going to the dentist for treatment, patients should take care to brush thoroughly and frequently floss to remove all food particles on and between the teeth.

One of the other most common causes for toothaches is tooth fractures. Fractures, including chips and cracks, can cause excruciating pain to the victim as well as lead to detrimental health concerns. Receiving professional help and repairs for the tooth that is damaged immediately is ideal. In the case that a visit is not available as soon as possible; however, utilizing over-the-counter pain medications can help ease the pain.

Both fractures and cavities can result in a dental abscess. An abscessed tooth is the infection of the interior pulp within a tooth, which causes pain and pus to build up. These are only effectively treated when addressed by a professional, so going to the dentist's office as soon as possible is a priority. A cold compress against the tooth can also help ease the pain until the person sees the dentist.

Patients in need of a 24-hr dentist within the Philadelphia area should contact Center City Emergency Dentist today to address any of their dental concerns.

Center City Emergency Dentist Warns Against Habits That Can Be Harmful to Teeth

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/24/2020 -- To the Center City Emergency Dentist team, there's nothing more important than the healthiness of a smile. To help their patients and general readers maintain happy and healthy grins, the leading general care and emergency dentists of Philadelphia are sharing some of the worst oral habits they've come across, as well as some simple solutions.

While some daily habits, like regular brushing and drinking plenty of water, are vital in maintaining good oral hygiene, other habits can do just the opposite. There are many people who mindlessly introduce detrimental foods and objects into their mouths without thinking about the adverse effects. Here are some of the worst habits these dentists have come across.

- Eating excessive amounts of sugar
- Smoking or chewing tobacco
- Brushing teeth too vigorously
- Biting nails or other hard objects
- Using teeth as tools

What happens when improper substances are introduced into the mouth? They end up wearing down the enamel, or the outermost layer of the tooth that acts as a protective barrier, and introducing harmful bacteria into the mouth. This can lead to bad breath, staining of the teeth, gum disease, tooth decay, tooth loss, and much more serious oral infections.

It can be hard to beat a bad habit without outside help, even something as small as nail biting. Here are some tips to consider.

- Limit sugar consumption by eating small treats after a big meal and drinking plenty of water

- Speak with a medical professional about forming a plan to quit smoking and set up goals to see this plan to fruition

- Use a toothbrush with soft bristles and brush gently in circular motions. Alternatively, consider purchasing an electric toothbrush.

- Cut nails short to avoid biting on them or wear bitter-tasting nail polish.

- Instead of using teeth as tools, find someone to help with the task at hand.

To learn more general oral hygiene tips, or inquire about other services available, such as periodontics, endodontics, and Invisalign, call their Philadelphia office today.

Important COVID-19 Update from Center City Emergency Dentists

Their offices are still operational at this time, but will only be performing emergency dental services in order to avoid unnecessary person-to-person contact or large group gatherings. All routine dental examinations and procedures will be suspended until further notice.

Due to limited appointment times, all patients are required to submit a $50 deposit, which will be used towards their office visit and dental treatment or be refunded back. Those who wish to cancel or reschedule their appointments must provide the Center City Emergency Dentists staff with a 24-hour or more notice. Any cancellations that don't follow this policy will lose half of their deposit refund. These temporary restrictions are in place due to limited availability.

In the meantime, Center City Emergency Dentists has been working diligently to ensure that their dental practice is a safe space for all employees and patients. Their health and safety protocols are outlined below:

- Sanitation products have been placed throughout the facility
- All frequently touched objects must be disinfected thoroughly and often throughout the workday
- Any dental instruments and equipment will be sterilized according to OSHA, ADA, and CDC standards before and after patient use
- Dentists will, at all times, have access to and utilize personal protective equipment
- Dentists will implement a no-contact policy and retain a distance of six feet or more between themselves and patients when possible
- Negative Pressure HEPA filters have been installed throughout the building
- All personnel will be required to work from home if they feel unwell

Patients will also be screened to determine the state of their health upon entering the Center City Emergency Dentists office. All individuals who show flu-like symptoms, including a cough or fever, will not be allowed to enter the office in a bid to protect other occupants in the building. Patients are required to arrive alone unless they are a child accompanied by an adult, so all parties can accommodate social distancing rules in the waiting lobby. New members must fill out their paperwork online to ensure a speedy appointment.

Furthermore, state-funded or Medicaid insurance plans will not be accepted at this time. This includes United Healthcare Community Plan, Aetna Better Health, UPMC Dental Advantage, and Health Partners. Acceptance of these plans will resume starting July 1, 2020.

Center City Emergency Dentist Explains the Difference Between Veneers and Crowns

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/17/2020 -- To obtain their dream smile, many individuals are turning to Center City Emergency Dentist for their highly-regarded cosmetic dentistry and orthodontic practices, like adult braces, at their Philadelphia location. To help patients make the best choice for their dental procedures, Center City Emergency Dentist is happy to discuss the difference between veneers and crowns.

Veneers have become an increasingly popular procedure in cosmetic dentistry for their realistic appearance, durability, and affordability. They are recommended for fixing minor cosmetic flaws, like permanent stains or small chips in teeth. Placing veneers is a permanent procedure where a dentist will cover only the front portion of the teeth by adhering a thin porcelain or composite resin layer using medical-grade tools. After the veneers are bonded to the teeth, they cannot be removed, so patients must take great care of their new smile. Fortunately, maintenance is quite simple — a regular brushing and flossing routine is all that's required to keep veneers looking brand new.

Patients who are looking to repair significant dental functions or cosmetic appearances should strongly consider placing crowns instead of veneers. Crowns can be molded from porcelain and composite resin, like veneers, but they can also be created from much sturdier materials, like ceramics or metal alloys. However, crowns cover the whole tooth; in fact, they essentially become the new tooth. A dentist will significantly shave down the original tooth to fit the crown in its place.

Center City Emergency Dentist is taking appointments for all patients who are looking at improving their smile through cosmetic dentistry. Individuals who are interested in getting veneers may opt for Lumineers, the advanced alternative to veneers. Lumineers offer the same benefits as traditional veneers without needing to shave down the original tooth.

Center City Emergency Dentist Sheds Light on the Early Signs of Periodontal Disease

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/08/2020 -- Periodontal disease is a gum disease that develops slowly enough to go unnoticed by most patients, especially those who skip their biannual dentist appointments. Gingivitis, characterized by an inflammation of the gums, is the first stage of periodontal disease and can be treated with home remedies and extensive oral care. However, if left untreated, the inflammation will cause the gums to recede upwards, leading to bone loss and eventual tooth loss. As such, it's important for patients to be able to identify the warning signs and contact their trusted Center City Emergency Dentist (CCED) practitioner for a check-up. As the best local orthodontist in Philadelphia, CCED is always accepting new cases and patients.

This gum disease can be caused by a variety of factors, but the most common reason is poor dental hygiene. Those who have a bad habit of not brushing or flossing their teeth are letting bacteria fester in their mouths, which can lead to infection and inflammation, or gingivitis. However, other circumstances can influence the development of periodontal disease, such as illnesses, genetics, or hormonal changes in women.

The most important component of treating periodontal disease is acting fast to prevent any further progression. If a patient is suddenly suffering from any gum discomfort, such as redness, tenderness, swelling, infection, or recession of the gums, they may be experiencing the early signs of periodontal disease. Gums that bleed easily, bad breath, and new spaces developing between teeth are other indicators to keep an eye out for.

Patients who notice any similar symptoms should contact CCED immediately. Although periodontal disease is prevalent in adults, children can easily develop gingivitis from poor oral habits. CCED offers the leading dental services, including endodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics, for adults and children in Philadelphia, PA. Lumineers are a great alternative to traditional veneers as they present the same benefits, without the invasive treatments or frequent office visits. All patients who are looking to fix cosmetic dental flaws should turn to Center City Emergency Dentist for Lumineers.

Teeth can develop cosmetic flaws due to a number of reasons, such as constant coffee consumption or aging with time. Whether a patient is suffering from discoloration, chips, cracks, gaps, spaces, or depreciation of teeth, Lumineers are a speedy and effective solution. Created from porcelain materials, Lumineers are both durable and thin. This makes the application process incredibly easy and time-efficient.

In general, Center City Emergency Dentist patients only require two trips to the dental office to complete their Lumineer journey. The first trip is a consultation and mold procural, which is sent to a Lumineers lab to be created and perfected. The second trip is fitting and adhering, where Lumineers are permanently glued over teeth. Proper care and maintenance of Lumineers is no different than regular oral hygiene, and it will help the veneers maintain their shine and efficiency for over 20 years.

Center City Emergency Dentist Explains the Benefits of Invisalign

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/14/2019 -- Center City Emergency Dentist is taking appointments for clients looking to straighten their teeth via Invisalign. Invisalign is not necessarily a new technology, but it has been significantly improved over the years. Anyone looking to improve their smile is welcome to contact CCED to schedule Invisalign treatment in Philadelphia.

CCED offers both traditional braces, also known as metal braces, and Invisalign. Though both orthodontic procedures have their own benefits, more and more clients are opting for Invisalign. Invisalign uses clear, plastic trays to apply pressure to teeth, shifting them over time. With state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology, orthodontists at CCED will scan clients' teeth to form a mold of the Invisalign trays, which are created to fit comfortably in the mouth. The trays must be removed prior to any food or liquid consumption so as not to stain or damage the plastic. There are no food restrictions with Invisalign, so long as the trays are replaced once consumption is over.

Invisalign is a faster treatment for those with simple orthodontic issues, with the average treatment ranging from 12-18 months. These invisible aligners are a great way to straighten teeth while maintaining the confidence of not wearing metal braces. They're perfect for school students and working adults who are looking to improve their smile.

All those interested in using Invisalign as a discrete way of straightening their teeth are encouraged to call Center City Emergency Dentist.
Bite Reclamation at CCED Improves Patients' Health and Appearance

This erosion will affect not only make teeth look shorter, but can also impact dental health.

The solution is bite reclamation, available from Center City Philadelphia's leading cosmetic dentistry center, Center City Emergency Dentist. The bite reclamation procedure at CCED can reverse years of teeth deterioration, which can be caused by any combination of factors, including acid reflux, bulimia, enamel erosion, alcoholism, and natural long-term abrasion.

When this deterioration reaches a certain level of severity, it can make basic activities, such as chewing, more challenging, or even painful, if the teeth have worn down all the way to the pulp.

The bite reclamation process begins with a consultation to assess the extent of the problem, and determine whether the lower jaw, upper jaw, or both will require the elongation procedure. Once this planning stage has been completed, the treatment itself is the next step.

The treatment relies on the use of fillers to restore the teeth to the length and shape they were before deterioration began. The patient will receive anesthesia to numb the pain of having dental nerves provoked. The recovery process, which generally takes no more than a few weeks, entails the use of antibacterial mouthwash to prevent infections.

Besides the improvement in teeth's appearance, the elimination of tooth pains, and better tooth function, bite reclamation at Philadelphia's leading cosmetic dentists, CCED, can also restore the patient's face to a more youthful appearance by stretching the skin and lessening wrinkles.

Center City Emergency Dentist Explains the Differences Between Invisalign and Braces

Bristol, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/29/2019 -- While orthodontics is often associated with teenagers, it's never too late to improve one's smile. Many adults come to the leading cosmetic dentist in Philadelphia, Center City Emergency Dentist (CCED), for teeth straightening, either because they never got around to having their teeth straightened when they were younger, or because of bad dental habits that caused their teeth to become crooked during adulthood.

Invisalign and braces are both available at CCED, and both are well-established orthodontic treatments. Which one a patient chooses depends on whether he or she cares more about convenience or appearance.

For convenience, braces are the way to go. Invisalign must be removed every time a patient eats anything or drinks any beverage besides water, and the aligning trays of Invisalign must be switched every two weeks. Braces, on the other hand, stay in the mouth all the time, so there's no need to concern oneself with removing them to eat or drink. Braces may take a longer amount of time to straighten the teeth, but are generally more effective at rotating and moving teeth vertically to fix underbites or overbites.

Invisalign is far less noticeable than braces, so for patients who are worried about how they'll look with braces, Invisalign removes this insecurity. In addition to making patients feel more comfortable with the way they look, Invisalign is also more comfortable physically because it does not involve the metal or rubber bands associated with braces.

A patient interested in teeth straightening does not have to make the decision between Invisalign and braces alone. Helping patients compare and select treatment options is one of the things the staff at CCED, the leading cosmetic dentistry office in Center City, Philadelphia, do best.
Center City Emergency Dentist Discusses Problems Caused by Wisdom Teeth

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/13/2019 -- Among the best orthodontists in Philadelphia, Center City Emergency Dentist is currently taking the opportunity to educate the Philadelphia community about the attendant risks that come with wisdom teeth.

According to Center City Emergency Dentist, most people do not have jaw bones large enough to fit all 32 permanent teeth. Consequently, wisdom teeth are often crowded out of their proper eruption position by the overlying gums or bone, resulting in impacted teeth. When wisdom teeth start to erupt, they can trigger a recurrent cycle of gum infections, leading to pain around the tooth that can even spread to the neck or face.

When left alone, impacted wisdom teeth can also cause other issues, such as chronic infections and serious recession of the bone and gums.

Center City Emergency Dentist also points out that when a wisdom tooth erupts in absence of an opposing tooth, it can lead to accidental cheek biting or hyper-eruption, disrupting the bite or occlusion of the other teeth. More severe issues can arise if the tissue surrounding an impacted tooth grows into a tumor or cyst. Wisdom teeth can even lead to crowding of the lower incisor teeth in one's late teens and early twenties, requiring orthodontic retreatment if left alone long enough.

Furthermore, scientific studies have shown that wisdom teeth that do erupt tend towards disease and infection just as much as impacted teeth.

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/12/2018 -- With the holidays approaching, the staff at CCED is encouraging all of their patients to schedule their second cleaning of the calendar year.
Patients Can Improve Their Oral Health when They Seek Dentistry Services at Center City Emergency Dentist

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/16/2018 -- Center City Emergency Dentist offers dentistry services that will improve patients' oral health, which is closely linked to the health of the rest of the body. Their emergency dental services, cosmetic dentistry, and orthodontics in Center City Philadelphia can each play a key role in keeping the mouth healthy.

When patients experience a dental emergency, they can call Center City Emergency Dentists 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Whether they have broken a filling, have experienced tooth trauma, or are suffering from a toothache, it is essential that they see a professional right away. Patients will receive fast and effective emergency treatment that will work to preserve their oral health.

The orthodontists at this practice also work to improve the health of patients' mouths. After all, crooked teeth, crowded teeth, overbites, and underbites don't just affect the appearance of a smile. They can also lead to problems with eating or speaking. Misaligned teeth can cause particles of food and sugar to get stuck in hard-to-reach places, causing plaque buildup and unwanted cavities. An overbite or underbite could also put too much pressure on certain teeth, wearing them down and harming the enamel. Braces and other orthodontic procedures can eliminate these issues.

Finally, patients may find that cosmetic dentistry isn't just about looks. These expert cosmetic dentists in Philadelphia can perform a variety of procedures that will promote a healthier mouth. For example, dental crowns can protect a weakened tooth, and dental implants can help to strengthen the jawbone.

To find out more about how patients can improve their oral health by seeking care at Center City Emergency Dentist, please call 215-315-7691 or visit https://www.centercityemergencydentists.com.

Center City Emergency Dentist Offers Teeth Straightening Services to People Throughout Philadelphia, PA

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/16/2018 -- Center City Emergency Dentist, located on Walnut Street in Philadelphia, offers teeth straightening services to children and adults throughout the local areas. Their team provides multiple solutions for orthodontic issues, including but not limited to braces, Invisalign, and retainers.

Whether someone suffers from an underbite or overbite, a gap, or crooked teeth, Dr. Han Lee, an orthodontist at Center City Emergency Dentist and a member of American Association of Orthodontics, will identify the problem and provide the patient with a solution depending on their preferences and other factors.

Braces are one of the most common orthodontic services, especially with children. Adult braces have also become increasingly commonplace, though, used to fix overbites and close gaps. Invisalign, which are clear, plastic trays that perform the same function as braces, have become increasingly popular among teens and adults. Retainers may be used to fix minor orthodontic issues, and they are also used after braces are removed to help teeth remain straight.

Dr. Han Lee found her passion for orthodontics when she had her braces removed at 16, significantly boosting her confidence. Now, she helps other people find their confidence through various teeth straightening options in Philadelphia, PA, and the surrounding areas.

Center City Emergency Dentist also provides other types of services, including emergency dental treatment, for issues that need treatment when other dentist offices are typically closed. To learn more about the orthodontic services offered by Center City Emergency Dentist, contact the office by calling them at 215-315-7691 or visiting their website at https://www.centercityemergencydentists.com/contact-us/.
