ImageFIRST Locations Recognized Veterans This Past November

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/19/2017 -- This past November, several ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists locations recognized their veteran associates to honor them for their service.

A number of the national medical linen and laundry services provider's locations across the nation have veterans on their staff; some locations have as many as four veteran associates. To celebrate them, ImageFIRST locations held recognition events that ranged from gatherings around different types of food to providing gift bags and presenting specially-designed sweatshirts to the veterans.

The ImageFIRST Corporate office invited a veteran who is currently a police officer to come and speak about his experiences in the US Marines. Associates were able to ask him questions, and then viewed a few informational slides on the Department of Defense. Afterwards, the presenter and the office's veteran associate were recognized and presented their sweatshirts. The event concluded with snacks and sweets for everyone.

Other locations celebrated in their own way. The ImageFIRST Chicago team played "Patriotic Games," while the North Carolina team held a Veterans' Day breakfast for associates and the Atlanta team made gift bags for their Veterans. The LA team created shadow boxes for their four veterans, who were also presented with sweatshirts during a special lunch that featured their favorite foods. Finally, the ImageFIRST Dallas team celebrated by providing each associate with red, white, and blue individual bags of popcorn. They also posted a list of associates with family members that served, which was framed and viewable by everyone.

Director of marketing, Magali Tranie, stated, "We wanted to honor what these brave men and women have done for our country. These celebrations enable us to show our heartfelt appreciation and thanks for their service."

ImageFIRST Improves 24/7 Online Customer Portal

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/12/2017 -- ImageFIRST Healthcare Laundry Specialists, a medical linen rental and laundry services provider that offers medical scrubs uniforms in Kansas City, MO and beyond, continuously improves its 24/7 Online Customer Portal based on customer feedback.

After being relaunched in mid-2016 based on feedback from a focus group of existing users, the improved Portal features a more user-friendly interface with simpler navigation. Features added in 2017 include the ability to sign up for paperless invoices and statements in the portal.

Using the Online Customer Portal, ImageFIRST customers are able to access their account information on-demand, including details of their current linen inventory, copies of invoices, and downloadable certification information for compliance documentation. Customers can also make inventory change requests in the Portal, which are sent directly to ImageFIRST's Service team.

The Portal concept came from customers who work outside of the traditional 9 to 5 hours (as many medical facilities staff members do), and need immediate, round-the-clock access to information without reaching out by e-mail or phone.

Customers interested in getting access to the Online Customer Portal, which is available to all existing and new ImageFIRST customers, can reach out to ImageFIRST's customer care team by filling out the form at www.imagefirst.com/Contact-Us or calling 800-368-6376.
ImageFIRST Shares Document to Aid Facilities with Improving Linen Management

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/28/2017 -- ImageFIRST, a provider of medical scrubs in Lawrence, KS, and throughout the country, shares information on their website for the benefit of their customers and other interested parties. One of these documents, titled, "5 Surefire Ways to Achieve 100% Worry-Free Linen Management," outlines five effective ways to improve a medical facility's linen management.

The document is free to download from the ImageFIRST website by visiting this link: http://www.imagefirst.com/5-surefire-ways-to-achieve-100-worry-free-linen-management.

The guide emphasizes the importance of medical facilities putting their patients first, which can become difficult if they have poor inventory management. Having a reliable system in place allows outpatient facilities to give the highest level of care to their patients without needing to worry about whether or not they will have the clean linens they need in a timely manner.

One point that the document makes is that it is essential to have a responsive provider for linens. Not only should they deliver the linens on time on a regular basis, but all of the sheets and gowns should be properly sanitized.

The document provided by ImageFIRST goes into much further detail about why these things are necessary, and it also outlines additional concerns that many medical facilities have about linen management, and how a good provider would address these issues.

ImageFIRST is committed to improving the patient experience by providing reliable linen services to the medical facilities that they serve. Not only are the linens always properly cleaned and sanitized, but they are always delivered on-time to keep operations running smoothly. Additionally, they provide patient gowns and scrub uniforms in the Topeka, KS, area, as well as across the United States.

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/21/2016 -- ImageFIRST Kansas City, a supplier of medical scrubs and uniforms in the Kansas City, MO, region, is dedicated to putting their associates first. This company shows appreciation for their associates with regular team-building activities.

The company's purpose, "To build a great company by positively impacting the lives of [their] associates, [their] community, [their] customers and their patients," reinforces their focus on their team.

An example of an activity ImageFIRST does to boost morale is a game that their Fort Myers team started playing thanks to the leadership of their office manager, Wendy. This activity is called the "Think Positive" game, and allows associates to show their appreciation to each other.

Each week, a different associate is selected, and every team member writes at least one positive thing about that chosen individual. The selected associate then writes a note to the entire team. Some examples of the notes written to the team by the chosen associate are listed below:

"I'm so happy to work with you guys. Not only, do I have awesome coworkers, but a family. You guys are the best team ever. I love you guys."

"Everyone creates a positive moment with every interaction with each other. They also work as a team/family instead of against. And they got jokes."

"Nothing beats the strong bond of family, which we are a big family. Everyone works hard and gets the job done as a team."

This game is well-received by the associates and brings their team together. ImageFIRST also seeks to recognize their associates with several formalized programs including the Dream On program, the ImageFIRST All Stars, ImageFIRST Council of Excellence and Leading the Way cards.

ImageFIRST Kansas City Focuses on Infection Prevention in Outpatient Setting

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/01/2016 -- There are many factors that lead to infection and contamination at healthcare facilities across the US. Improperly protecting patients from bacteria and viruses can result in facility-wide outbreaks from contagious diseases at inpatient care units. The overall infection prevention status in outpatient environments is not tracked as closely, but ImageFIRST, a medical linen and laundry services provider, is sharing industry research to better inform healthcare providers on steps they can take to keep patients safe.

In a recent article from the American Journal of Infection Control, doctors shed light on the proper measures that can be taken to best avoid outbreaks and illnesses. The article cites a 2014 study that was conducted across 15 outpatient sites across New Mexico. The results showed a disparity in how hand hygiene procedures were followed: 37% of staff members used no hand hygiene, while 34% used alcohol-based hand rub and 29% used soap and water. It is important for all healthcare facilities to train staff members to wash their hands in a uniform manner that effectively fights infection. The research also revealed that improvement can be made in regards to injection safety and overall policy adherence.

ImageFIRST Kansas City does their part in preventing the spread of infections by submitting all of their healthcare linen products to a Triple BioShield Protection process, which kills up to 99.999% of pathogens. The medical laundry service in Kansas City, MO, also makes an AssuranceFIRST promise to customers, which affirms that their services and products are designed to prevent infection. The company has a 5-point product quality system to make sure all of the products provided are clean and fresh, heightening patient satisfaction.

Associates of ImageFIRST Volunteer in Cooks for Kids Program at Local Ronald McDonald House

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/04/2016 -- At ImageFIRST Kansas City, a healthcare laundry and linen service provider based in Kansas City, MO, business is conducted in a way that is consistent with the company's goals, values, and purpose. Their associates go out of their way to follow the company's initiative even after their shift is over by giving back to their community. To show their care and support for their community – a principal that ImageFIRST puts at the heart of their purpose – associates commit to a charity event or volunteer program on an ongoing basis. One recent community giving effort entailed participation by ImageFIRST associates from the corporate office in the Cooks for Kids Program at the local Ronald McDonald House on March 3.

On that Thursday evening, associates from ImageFIRST's Corporate Headquarters got together at the local Ronald McDonald House to cook a homemade, hearty meal for families in need. The dinner was provided to families coping with seriously ill children to support them in their difficult journey, as many do not have the resources, time, or energy to purchase or make a meal. The associates had a wonderful time cooking with each other and interacting with the families they were providing for.

ImageFIRST donates nationally to the Ronald McDonald House Charities through events and by occasionally providing healthcare laundry services for their organization in various cities. Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to support families of sick kids by creating a community of hope and comfort, as well as find, create, and support programs that help improve the wellbeing of children. ImageFIRST takes pride in contributing to the organization's efforts and plans on volunteering again in the future.

At ImageFIRST Kansas City, as with all ImageFIRST locations, associates embrace regular volunteer service as a means of engaging with their local community and upholding ImageFIRST's values.
In Changing Healthcare Industry, Facilities Turn to ImageFIRST Kansas City's Solutions

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/25/2016 -- Today's industries are changing at rapid rates, no matter their focus, but the healthcare industry has seen some of the most significant changes of all in the past decade. These changes inevitably bring corresponding challenges. In the foreseeable future, healthcare providers will be challenged to improve the patient experience, prevent infection and manage costs while streamlining services, says ImageFIRST Kansas City, a medical uniform provider in Kansas City, KS.

Two factors have created a growing trend of consumerism with American patients nationwide. First, the Affordable Care Act has given patients more decision-making power when they choose a healthcare provider, the effect of which is compounded by CAHPS surveys. Secondly, social media creates visible conversations between individuals and companies, from individuals who transparently air their grievances online to companies that go the extra mile by publicly responding to customer questions and concerns. Today's patient is savvy and discerning to say the least, and healthcare facilities have responded accordingly, by shifting their focus to providing even better patient care—not just in terms of medical care, but the holistic experience. Patients and providers have likely noticed this trend in the form of the growing role of in-house Patient Experience professionals, who encourage the increased participation and feedback of patients and their family members.

Of course, expanding the realm of what counts as "patient care" into the holistic patient experience by no means tosses medical rigor aside. A key area of focus in the contemporary healthcare industry is the minimization of healthcare-acquired infections such as staph and MRSA, which continue to affect 1 in 25 hospital patients. Additionally, the Joint Commission, an independent organization that accredits more than 21,000 healthcare organizations that meet its rigorous performance standards, has recently created the position of patient safety officer and named Ronald M. Wyatt, MD, MHA to the role. Dr. Wyatt will focus on quality and safety at both the organizational and system levels, pursuing the organization's goal of zero patient harm within the healthcare system.

Finally, one of the most pressing tasks to arise out of the changes affecting healthcare is the search for streamlined, cost-effective services that support growing health systems. In accordance with the heightened focus on patient experience, as well, healthcare facility managers are challenged to develop organizational protocol and work with outside vendors that can enhance the overall patient experience while keeping costs down.

As an experienced healthcare linen and laundry provider for Topeka, KS, and the surrounding region, ImageFIRST Kansas City's products and services address the current challenges faced by healthcare facility managers. Creating remarkable patient experiences is at the heart of everything that ImageFIRST does, and it starts with exceptional products like the company's line of Comfort Care patient gowns. These generously cut gowns are made from unbelievably soft material that patients report is unlike anything they've been offered before. Facilities that switch to ImageFIRST's Comfort Care line are guaranteed an increase in patients' perception of their facility. Furthermore, Comfort Care gowns, as well as all other ImageFIRST products, including linen, scrubs, blankets and more, are sanitized to kill up to 99.999% of pathogens. This rigorous sanitization process assists healthcare facilities in their efforts to prevent healthcare-acquired infections. Finally, ImageFIRST's ValueFIRST promise ensures that their services remain cost-effective with transparent billing, need-based inventory levels, which are assessed quarterly and adjusted if needed to reflect fluctuating patient volume.

ImageFIRST Kansas City Shares Patient-Centric Innovations at Michigan Hospital

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/25/2016 -- As the patient consumer base in healthcare becomes more demanding and savvy, healthcare providers must focus on the patient experience as a means of staying competitive in the industry. Innovative products, services and facilities that approach the patient experience from unexpected or unorthodox angles are often key to creating patient-centered solutions that help healthcare providers thrive. ImageFIRST Kansas City, a medical uniform, linen and laundry provider in Kansas City, KS, is no stranger to the importance of the patient experience as a key consideration for healthcare providers. The company recently shared the example of the Children's Hospital of Michigan—Troy as an innovative, patient-focused healthcare provider.

The Children's Hospital of Michigan—Troy was designed to change the typical experience of patient flow and revitalize care through innovative design. Using a method called "integrated facility design," over 100 healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses, as well as parents from the community that the staff serves, met to collectively discuss the design of the new hospital. Instead of taking a conventional approach to design, the group discussed the flow of patients through the facility and what did and didn't benefit children and their parents.

From there, the hospital's design developed organically, entirely focused on floor plans and processes that will prioritize lowering patient stress levels and creating a patient-centric environment. One area of focus was the simplification of the emergency admittance process, which will expedite care for patients who need emergency treatment. The hospital will also adopt a "level loading' process that ensures a consistent patient flow, meaning that children and families will not have to sit in packed waiting rooms. Finally, every procedure at the hospital will be standardized, ensuring that patients receive uniform care.

In addition to design and processes, the services and products offered at healthcare facilities also helps to create a positive patient experience, even during difficult times. ImageFIRST, a nationwide provider of nurse uniforms in Kansas City, MO and elsewhere, has sought to design innovative products and services that improve the patient experience since day one. In particular, their Comfort Care Line of luxurious-feeling patient gowns. These soft, plush patient robes and gowns wrap patients in instant warmth and coziness and are guaranteed to improve the patient experience at any facility.

ImageFIRST, the cost-effective solutions for medical linen and laundry service, is a continual champion of improving the patient experience.
ImageFIRST Kansas City Shares Gallup Poll Results on Nursing and Trustworthiness

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/22/2016 -- ImageFIRST Kansas City, a leading provider of nurse uniforms in Kansas City, MO, regularly shares healthcare industry information with its customers to help them stay current in a fast-paced, constantly shifting market. This month, ImageFIRST Kansas City shares the results of Gallup's poll on American perceptions of various professions and their levels of honesty and ethical integrity. For the 14th year in a row, nurses were ranked the most trustworthy profession, highlighting the need for a strong nursing presence in any healthcare facility to create a positive patient experience.

According to the Gallup poll, 85% of Americans say that nurses are highly trustworthy. This makes nursing the most trusted out of any profession, with pharmacists and doctors coming in second and third place, respectively. According to the American Nursing Association (ANA), this is the 14th year in a row that the nursing profession has earned this honor.

Commenting on the poll results, ANA president Pamela F. Cipriano, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, noted that the public's overwhelming trust in nurses should be leveraged by healthcare facilities and providers. In a statement released by the ANA, Cipriano pointed out that in order to have a well-rounded perspective and make informed choices about patient care, healthcare providers must include nurses in their decision-making processes.

As a cost-effective provider of medical laundry and linen services that are designed to facilitate better patient experiences and care at hospitals and outpatient healthcare facilities, ImageFIRST Kansas City shares Cipriano's view.

ImageFIRST Kansas City Helps Customers Succeed on Patient Quality Surveys

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/23/2015 -- Recently, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved a measure will spell big changes for surgery centers. In 2016, with the approval of CMS, patient satisfaction surveys will be available to outpatient and ambulatory surgery centers, designed to gauge patients' perceptions and improve their experiences at the centers.

While beginning as a voluntary initiative, these surveys will eventually become mandatory, meaning that the centers surveyed will come under much closer observation and will be affected by patients' experiences. ImageFIRST Kansas City, a medical linen service in Kansas City, KS, can help outpatient surgery centers succeed with remarkable laundry services.

The surveys will be distributed to patients after visiting Medicare certified outpatient surgery departments located in hospitals or ambulatory surgery centers. Patients will be asked thirty-seven questions in total, pertaining to aspects of the patient care experience, such as the cleanliness and privacy of a facility, their willingness to recommend the facility and their overall rating of the facility. These surveys, much like the HCAHPS, will place a heightened focus on patient satisfaction.

ImageFIRST Kansas City can help their surgery center customers gain excellent feedback on surveys, increasing their longevity in an industry that continuously becomes more transparent and invested in the patient experience. ImageFIRST's mission is to deliver cost-effective laundry and linen solutions that help facilities create exceptional patient experiences. From each sanitized, bright white linen and comfortable patient gown to each scrub uniform in Kansas City, KS, ImageFIRST's products give patients a remarkably different care experience that they can see and feel.

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/24/2015 -- In the past five years, healthcare has become more accessible than ever, thanks to measures like the Affordable Care Act. Now that patients are taking advantage of more affordable health services, the importance of the consumer voice is growing in the healthcare sector, and healthcare facilities are making a greater investment in the patient experience.

According to the 2015 Beryl State of Patient Experience Report, the healthcare industry has more than tripled its investment in Chief Experience Officers, patient feedback is an increasingly important decision factor and service excellence is one of the top priorities for improving patient experience. ImageFIRST Kansas City, a provider of medical linens and nurse uniforms in Kansas City, MO, can help create the best patient experience possible with their remarkable linen and laundry services.

ImageFIRST Kansas City Puts Client Communication First

Kansas City, KS -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/23/2015 -- From more accessible care, made possible by the Affordable Care Act, to facilities' and caretakers' increased focus on patient comfort, several positive shifts have occurred across the healthcare landscape in the past several years. Especially in the case of patient comfort, many of these shifts have taken the form of improvements to patient amenities. However, one factor that requires improvement—rate of readmission—can be greatly impacted not through material comforts, but through communication.

ImageFIRST Kansas City, a medical linen and laundry service that serves healthcare facilities in the Kansas City metro area, recently shared a Becker's Healthcare article entitled "What factor has the biggest impact on readmission rates?" with its clients. The article is based on the findings of a study by Claire Senot and Aravind Chandrasekaran, the results of which were published in the Harvard Business Review.

According to Senot and Chandrasekaran's study, which gathered data from 3,000 hospitals over the course of six years, communication between patients and caregivers has the biggest impact on readmission rates, with clearer and more frequent communication resulting in lower readmission rates.

In fact, Senot and Chandrasekaran report that when hospitals prioritize communication with patients (in the form of having meaningful conversations with patients and responding to their explicit needs, for example), these facilities can reduce their readmission rate by 5%.

As a provider of medical linen and laundry, ImageFIRST Kansas City understands the importance of communication for a flawless customer experience first-hand. ImageFIRST is dedicated to helping their clients improve their patients' experience with high-quality, sanitized linen and garments. Just as ImageFIRST's clients communicate with their patients for better results, ImageFIRST prioritizes communication with its clients.

The ImageFIRST Customer Advocate is the key point of contact for each of their clients. More than just a linen delivery associate, Customer Advocates provide a variety of support in the form of inventory management, proper handling of linen and addressing inventory emergencies. ImageFIRST Kansas City also gives clients direct access to their Customer Advocates' cell phone number, as well as other Service team members in the form of their Instant Service App, a smartphone app that keeps clients in contact with ImageFIRST associates, just in case the client misplaces their phone number. This dedication to clear, open communication allows ImageFIRST's clients to invest more time and energy into communicating with their own patients for the best care experience possible.
