New York's Diamond Envy Reports Remarkable Surge of Interest in Fancy Color Diamonds

Sotheby's 2015 Important Jewels Auction was no fluke, with retail buyers and wholesalers also flocking to a range of fancy color diamonds so far this year, Diamond Envy reports

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/12/2015 -- Diamond Envy, one of the world's leading sources of top-quality, conflict-free, fancy color diamonds and jewelry, reported that demand for jewels of this kind has reached brand-new highs. In a recently published look at the season-opening Sotheby's Important Jewels Auction of this year, Diamond Envy analysts found that the fancy color diamonds offered there attracted special attention from bidders, with some setting new auction records and finishing among the top sales of the event. In addition to this particularly prominent and telling data point, Diamond Envy representatives report that interest in color diamonds has been notably high across the spectrum so far this year.

"Whether it's a delicate, elegant pink diamond or a fiery orange stone, fancy color diamonds are now more popular than ever before," Diamond Envy Creative Director Dina Silverberg said, "This year's Important Jewels Auction really opened some eyes to what color diamonds have to offer, and we've been seeing an unprecedented level of interest in them since."

The seemingly pure white diamonds that are so commonly seen in jewelry actually often harbor tinges of colors like brown and yellow. In fact, these traits are a key factor in the grading schemes that are conventionally used to rate such gems, with those that measure closest to unadulterated white scoring the highest.

While the average person is probably most familiar with diamonds of this type, the reality is that the gemstones occur naturally with a range of beautiful colors. In contrast to the more common kind, these fancy color diamonds are prized for their depth and intensity of hue, whether that means a vibrant pink, a bright yellow, a deep, intense shade of black, or anything in between.

Diamond Envy was founded in 2013 to give consumers greater access to these beautiful treasures. Building upon a thriving, 15-year-old network of relationships in New York's famed Diamond District, the company gives individuals the kinds of fancy color diamond buying opportunities that were formerly reserved for the most connected of wholesalers and specialists.

In addition to supplying this exclusive, valuable level of access, diamondenvy maintains a standard of truly personalized shopping that ensures that every customer will come away from the process highly satisfied. All Diamond Envy employees understand that the buying process can be just as important as the diamond itself and take pride in delivering the kind of friendly, personal customer service that best contributes to the experience.

As one of the world's leading dealers of fancy color diamonds, Diamond Envy is especially well positioned to notice and point out new developments in the market like the one reported here. More information about the recent surge in interest in fancy color diamonds, along with a full report about the sales of that kind at this year's Sotheby's Important Jewels Auction, can be found at http://www.diamondenvy.com/colored-diamond-jewelry/engagement-rings.html.

Diamond Envy Announces Their Support of Wounded Warrior Project

Money from the sale of every yellow diamond will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project on July 4, 2016, reports DiamondEnvy.com

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/12/2015 -- Diamond Envy announces they will donate 5 percent of every sale of a yellow diamond from this year to the Wounded Warrior Project on July 4, 2016. The Wounded Warrior Project offers support programs for individuals who are wounded while serving the country. These wounds include those that are both visible and invisible, and these brave men and women need assistance when recovering from their injuries and as they move back into civilian life. Diamond Envy is proud to offer this support.

"Wounded Warrior Project considers the greatest casualty of war to be those who are forgotten. They offer a range of successful programs to assist wounded veterans, including Project Odyssey, a program designed to help veterans develop new coping skills. The program boasts a 95 percent success rate, and diamondenvy is proud to play a role in the continuation of this great program," Emily, spokesperson for Diamond Envy, announces.

The most famous of all yellow diamonds is the Tiffany Yellow, which is believed to have been discovered in South Africa at the De Beers Mine back in 1877 or 1878. When discovered, the yellow diamond weighed 287.43 metric carats. It was valued in 1983 at $12,000,000 and is a prime specimen of a canary-yellow octahedron. Unfortunately, major gemological organizations have yet to examine this diamond, thus some dispute the accuracy of these claims.

"Many experts declare the Kimberly Octahedron to be the world's largest yellow diamond. This diamond weighs 616 carats and was also found in South Africa, but in the Dutoitspan Mine. Regardless of which yellow diamond is actually the world's largest, these diamonds are a beautiful alternative to traditional white diamonds," Emily explains.

Impurities trapped within the diamonds are what lead to the yellow color of this gem. When some of the carbon atoms in the diamond are replaced with nitrogen atoms, the diamond emits a yellow color. This is due to the amount of color displayed.

"Numerous celebrities have been seen wearing yellow diamonds, including Heidi Klum, Joy Enriquez and Johnny Damon's wife, Michelle Mangan. Consider purchasing a yellow diamond from diamondenvy today. It is sure to attract attention, regardless of where it is worn," Emily promises.

Diamond Envy Launches Pink Diamond Wholesale Program in Light of Mounting Scarcity

Bypassing industry markups in the retail diamond sector provides greater access to waning supply of rare stones, publishes diamondenvy.com.

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/06/2015 -- Among the most elusive of gemstones, pink diamonds constitute less than 2 percent of the world's diamond reserve; as such, they are also one of the most valuable varieties. Due to rarity and expense, far fewer people have been given the opportunity to own such a stone than who seek one. With this in mind, a spokesperson for Diamond Envy has launched the company's wholesale pink diamond program.

Said the spokesperson, "In many cases, the reasons for much of the cost of diamonds, especially those rare varieties, are retail markups. Diamond Envy was established in 2013 to bring colored diamonds to retail customers at wholesale prices, and we are excited to share our high quality inventory directly with consumers. Our diamondenvy.com Pink Diamonds Price is the most competitive available to those hoping to purchase these lovely stones."

Colored Diamonds at Diamondenvy are available in a range of hues, including red, purple, blue, green, black, gray, yellow, orange, champagne and chameleon. Aforementioned pink versions hail from Australia's Argyle Diamond Mine, the sole unfailing source of these gems discovered to date. Adding to the current scarcity of these stones is the projected exhaustion of the Argyle Mine in 2018.

Consumers should pay close attention to the color, carat, clarity and cut of a diamond when choosing one for purchase. Contrary to popular belief, carat weight is not the primary deciding factor in the brilliance of such a stone; rather, cut plays a more significant role in this aspect. Facets created to deeply or shallowly will prevent the diamond from reflecting light as it should.

The company spokesperson concluded, "We offer an extensive selection of necklace, bracelet, earring and ring designs ready for purchase. If clients wish, they may also choose from among our inventory of loose stones and create customized pieces. Our diamondenvy colored diamonds are fully certified and hold the highest quality available. We look forward to helping our clients become owners of some of the world's most unique stones with our new wholesale pink diamond program."
