86,000 square foot facility acquisition to increase workflow for Celina Tent

Celina, OH -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/12/2018 -- Large scale production is a major focus of Celina Tent, Inc., including the ability to take on high volume orders and meet contract obligations in a timely manner. Shelter manufacturing requires significant production square footage, both to accommodate the machinery and production associates to produce the items and for extra staging and storage areas for the product once it's been finished before it's been inspected and packaged. To facilitate this amount of manufacturing, Celina Tent, Inc. has acquired new production space in St. Marys, Ohio.

Situated at the interchange of State Route 29 and US-33 in St. Marys, Ohio, the St. Marys facility is located 11 miles from Celina Tent's main campus in Celina, Ohio. The new facility is strategically located approximately 55 miles north of Dayton, Ohio and 75 miles northwest of Columbus, Ohio. In addition to the 86,000 square foot of building space earmarked for manufacturing, the site also offers an additional 50,000 square foot positioned for surge capacity.

This is the largest campus increase since the 100,000 square foot Distribution Center constructed in 2017.

This new space in St. Marys encompasses 86,000 square feet that will be for established product lines. This includes all processes from raw material cutting through inspection and packaging before product is returned to the Celina, Ohio distribution center for shipment. Manufacturing technology development and preliminary design of critical components will remain at the Celina Campus.

Once equipment and processes are up and running, established product lines will be scheduled for new facility production. This includes shelter systems and tarpaulin that have previously been fabricated to support FEMA humanitarian efforts, CBRNE protection and cleanup initiatives, expeditionary warfighters and crisis workers along with various projects for the Department of Defense.

Equipment and facility set-up will begin this fall. As stated by Jeff Grieshop, "We plan to begin production from the St. Marys location in the fourth quarter of 2018."

Celina Tent to Add Jobs in their new St. Marys Facility

The new expansion of production space will create jobs as additional employees are required for assembling the product lines that will be moved into the space. The newly occupied space is located in the building that was previously Kmart along US-33 in St. Marys, Ohio. "We are very excited about this new expansion," said Celina Tent, Inc. These well-established product lines will be relocated to the St. Marys location for final assembly. The additional space in the St. Marys Business Complex will double the available assembly area needed to complete shelters. Efficiency will then be improved by dedicated workflow and work centers. Contracts and engineered projects from Celina Tent include kitchen shelters, clean room tarpaulin, decontamination shelters and agricultural curtains.

Hiring for the new facility will commence as machinery and logistics are finalized. Secretary Sonny Perdue and Administrator Linda McMahon visit Celina Campus

Celina, OH -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/09/2018 -- Celina welcomed visitors from Washington on Wednesday, April 4th as the head of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Small Business Administration (SBA) stopped to tour their manufacturing campus. Concerns of local owners and industry leaders were the main focus of the RV tour, which travelled through Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky.

New center has construction finalized and shipping transactions underway.

Celina, OH -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/16/2018 -- Celina has finished the new 100,000 square foot Distribution Center on their 58 acre campus in Celina, Ohio. This consolidates all of their manufacturing, kitting, and shipping into one area and will allow for sweeping changes in the efficiency and easy with which business can be handled.

The Distribution Center has been designed and equipped with state-of-the-art stocking equipment for maximum efficiency.
