OUKITEL K6000 Phone Battery Protects Against an over-Temperature

Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/26/2015 -- OUKITEL released the new 4G FDD LTE smartphone K6000 with a huge 6000mAh Li-poly battery. The normal smartphone comes with Li-ion battery, but K6000 uses the safer Li-poly to realize a large capacity, the most popular choice for anyone looking for long run times and high power.

OUKITEL also announced K6000 supports flash charging with 9V/2A output. Due to the unique flash charging chipset in the charger, charging with automatic protection function and ensure the safety of the phone. In addition, the li-poly battery uses the most advanced technology in 2015 to protect against an over-current or an over-temperature during flash charging. Of course, The phone and battery did the authorized CE, RoHS certification and UN38.3 test. There, OUKITEL did the battery fire test, li-poly battery and li-ion battery, both are in a high temperature (about 1000?), will they explode? Let's see it!

From the video, we can see the result:
Li-poly battery: 27 seconds, break, no explosion. Continuous baking under 1000?, but no fire.
Li-ion battery: 13 seconds, explosion.

About Li-ion Batteries
Li-ion batteries pose a unique hazard during transport because they contain stored energy, which if released through a short circuit is capable of causing a fire. All Li-ion battery expand at high levels of state of charge or over-charge, due to slight vaporisation of the electrolyte. Compared to Li-ion battery, Li-ploy have a rigid metal case, a flexible, foil-type (polymer laminate) case, so they are relatively unconstrained. It means Li-polymer battery is safer than Li-ion battery under high temperature. By themselves the battery are over 20% lighter than equivalent Li-ion of the same capacity, they are sought but the high energy density outweighs cost considerations.
