Scott Tucker Hosts Smores Campout at Lake Radnor

Outdoors man Scott Tucker will host a fundraising “S'mores Campout” event for families this fall. Adults are encouraged to bring children for fireside s'mores eating. Happy Homes and Pets will feature the campout.

Nashville, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/03/2015 -- Scott Tucker will be featured on Happy Homes and Pets in an upcoming article spotlighting the "S'mores Campout" night. The campout is planned for August 2016 and will allow up to 200 adults and children to come to Lake Radnor after park hours to enjoy s'mores and camp overnight.

"We think the campout will be a big success for families this fall," says Happy Homes and Pets writer Kathy Platter. "Tucker throws events like this from time to time, and he's always done great with the execution. It's a big undertaking to host a campout but the lake area is built for event's like this so hopefully it draws out a lot of people and some funds are raised."

The campout will be held at Lake Radnor in the central Tennessee valley. Tucker has collected 50 lbs of chocolate and 10 lbs of marshmallows for the campout which will be begin at 6pm with campfire s'mores and storytelling.

"My family has been camping at Radnor Lake for years, we love it there and I know a lot of other people do too," says Tucker. "So instead of our normal summer campfire get together, I decided to host this event and raise some money for the new community center. If everybody chips in a little for the s'mores and the camping then we should be able to help out a lot and really give back."

S'mores and healthy snacks will be available for attendees to purchase, all proceeds going to the future Radnor community center. Camping spots are limited to 50 spaces which can hold two cars and two tents per space.

More information will be published on the Happy Homes and Pets site next fall.

Garden shop owner Scott Tucker will present “Royal Rose” a rose garden competition celebrating Washington area rose gardens. Happy Homes and Pets will showcase top contenders for the grand prize with photos and interviews on growing techniques.

Memphis, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/01/2015 -- Happy Homes and Pets, a site for tips on how to improve the average domestic life, will show a preview of the Scott Tucker Royal Rose competition participants and tips on rose cultivation. The competition which takes place in Memphis, TN will feature many strains of roses from the official Tucker garden.

"We want our readers to be inspired by this upcoming feature on the Royal Rose," says Happy Homes and Pets editor Jimmy Hound. "It is one thing to have a yard, another thing to have a tended garden, and something completely different to grow decent looking roses. This competition usually brings in some amateurs and this year we want to spotlight them to encourage our readership."

The competition will take place in Hammer Park, five miles away from all industrial chemical plants or manufacturing companies. Roses are brought in from competitors gardens which must be located inside of the state of Tennessee.

"This is such a fun competition to present, especially when I usually compete," says Tucker. "The Royal Rose has been around for several years and it's really an honor to be a part of it. I hope the competitors can honor the grand prize with some unique and impressive strains."

The one day event will be open exclusively to registered spectators, competitors, and judges. The grand prize will be awarded to one competitor who can present the most impressive specimen, grown from their own garden which can be verified by judges.

Illustrator and author Scott Tucker will release a book for children about diversity in the United States this winter. Happy Homes and Pets to feature the book's release on their website with an interview with the author.

Eugene, OR -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/30/2015 -- Happy Homes and Pets, a wholesome family safe website for everyone, will show the cover and some interior art from the new Scott Tucker "Tiger and Fish" children's book. The 20 page book will be released this winter.

"We think Scott Tucker has been a brilliant illustrator for many years already and can't wait to show some of his upcoming work on our site," says Happy Homes and Pets editor Jenny Kent. "I personally love the abstract style of his, I think it's so wonderful the way adults and children can appreciate it. This new book is a little more in the eastern style and it's really a treat."

The book, which was written and illustrated by Tucker, will feature drawings and descriptions of how different animals can get along despite their differences. The book will teach children about appreciating each person and animal for who or what they are.

"When I started drawing fish and tiger's a few months ago the story idea came to me," says Tucker. "I was explaining how there are different kinds of relationships to my daughter and drawing the animals and just put it all together. I hope the story is as good as the art, I know the art is really great, my family says it is at least."

The book is intended to be read to children under the age of 10, adult supervision recommended for children under the age of eight. The book will be free for electronic download on the day of it's release, hard copies will be available in select Eugene, OR retailers.

Scott Tucker Donates Fiction Collection to Library

Author Scott Tucker recently donated his private 100 book fiction collection to his local public library, Happy Homes and Pets will spotlight the generous act.

Burlington, VT -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/30/2015 -- Happy Homes and Pets, the center for wholesome lifestyle inspiration on the web, will feature Scott Tucker in an upcoming article spotlighting the recent donation of more than 100 books. The book donation was given to a public library in Vermont from Tucker's personal collection of fictional books for children and adults.

"The donation from Tucker was extremely generous and we love hearing that sort of news," says Happy Homes and Pets editor Jenna Romero. "Our readers are just that, avid readers usually. They consider reading a form of recreation and many of them visit their local public library regularly to check out new books and spend time reading so a contribution like this from Tucker affects a community in a really positive way."

The donation was made from Tucker's private collection which consists of more than 1,000 fiction and nonfiction books. Tucker has been collecting literature for more than 20 years and donated the books on his most recent birthday as a gift to the community.

"This past year there came a point when I was hesitant to buy or check out any new books because my personal collection had grown out of control," says Tucker. "A friend suggested that I donate some of my books to our local public library which I am a member of and I was immediately on board. Some of the books I chose to donate were rare gems and some were just books I knew I wouldn't want to read again this year so I let them go."

Tucker gave the books to the library without announcement and patiently waited for each book to be inspected for quality. The books donated by Tucker are fictional pieces written from between the years 1970-2010. Happy Homes and Pets will publish photos of Tucker's book collection with an interview later this winter.
